I was gonna rate this book 4 stars but honestly? The prose is so beautiful and heartbreaking, and even though the characters at times were insufferable, they were also human. This book made me feel so many emotions and ong the YEARNING!!!!
You think you know YEARNING and then you read Madonna in a fur coat!!!! THE FLEETING NATURE OF HAPPINESS IN THIS BOOK IS SO INCREDIBLY DEVASTATING AND YET SO REAL.
At times I cringed or even got angry at some of the character's lines and thoughts but at its core, this book is so stunningly human and real and heartbreaking that I was fully immersed and committed to it. I will be thinking about this story for a long long time.
