Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popović

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
I just didn't like this book. Here is why...
I disliked the main characters. Iris, i feel like, is one of those "I'm not like other girls" type of trope. This trope can be done well, but she was extremely pessimistic. Her mother was also extremely unlikable as well. I get that she is considered "bad", but I feel like there are no redeeming qualities. I really have to like the characters in order to like the story. 2/5 stars for me.

Okayyyyy......weird rant here
I really wanted to like this book. A fantasy book with enemies to lovers plot? I usually love these tropes. But I just could not get past how FAST these characters fall in love. They have already been flirting with each other with *slight* bits of sarcastic humor to make it seem like they hate each other. I really wanted to see them be more....mean? Or just more distant at first. And i am deeply confused by the kingdoms and magic they keep referring to. I would probably not recommend this book to anyone.  The writing style was good, but not my preference. 2/5 stars. I don't think it's a bad book per say, just not what I'm looking for in a book.

Oh my word, I'd give this book 6 stars if I could!!! I loved every twist and turn, every chapter in this book. The mystery kept me guessing, and the love story was perfect. I definitely cried at the end. I highly recommend this book!

This book is beautifully written. I love the small details to the mystery that I got to piece together as I read through it. The dialogs in this book is natural and interesting. Towards the end of the book I was surprised by the ending. So many emotional rolacoster ride in this book. Highly recommend reading this if you like emotional/sad books.

Spoiler Warning!!
I really liked this book at the beginning, but towards the middle it started to slow down quite a bit. It was filled with a lot more information than adventure. Thankfully I finished it though because the end was extremely fast. I liked this book quite a bit but didn't like the way it slowed down in the middle.
(Spoiler) I also didn't like that they mentioned a war in the beginning, but at the end revealed it was a lie from the King? I personally would have rather kept the war in the story, but I'm curious to see what happens!
But overall, I did enjoy this book and plan on reading the second one!
