Ok I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES (so far) only reason why this is getting 4 stars is because this whole book seemed to be a big build up for the 6th and final book. A lot of information is dropped, a lot of lore covered, and a lot of “aha” moments.

BEAUTIFUL OMG! So I was going back and forth between reading on my kindle and the audiobook (gotta do what I gotta do) first off, the narrators for the audible book were amazing, exactly how I expected the main characters to sound.
The ending?!?! If you weren’t sure if you were going to read the next book well you definitely want to after reading the last couple of chapters. So DONT STOP READING IT
I cannot wait to start the second book.

I cannot express the love I have for this series in words. I am reading in chronological order rather than publication order so this was my first look into this universe. I laughed, I cried, I vented to my husband at 1am. This was a bittersweet ending to the series and I can’t wait to continue to the next series. I know for a fact that, bare minimum, I will read The Legend of the First Empire books again. I’m just sad that I can’t read it again for the first time.

I’m crying

This book has so many ups and downs. I was addicted to reading it. I was angry, I cried, I laughed, I had discussions with my husband at midnight. Very well written and decently paced. I cannot wait to start book 2. Im just shocked

If you enjoy Ancient Greek mythology with a modern twist, this is great. I loved all of the characters and the development that they had. Yea there are a lot of re-hashing of Greek myths over the years but while reading this I still felt like I was reading something unique. There is quite a bit of spice , nothing too over the top but you get quite a decent amount of on page action. I’m very excited to continue this series!

I was an ARC reader for this book and this was such a fun read. I felt a really close connection with the fmc, she was made very relatable. Once you got out of the world building, the story was pretty fast paced. I gave it 4 stars because I wish there was more background about why the world is the way it is, kind of like how did we get here? Overall just more lore in general, but that’s a personal preference. I’m just the kid that asks “why” to everything. That being said for an opening book to a series it definitely hooked me and I am patiently waiting for the next book.
Some of the tropes:
-trials
-forced proximity
-blood pacts
-dark mysterious mmc
-brave heroic fmc
-dragons
-magic

No words can describe the emotional rollercoaster this book put me on. Everything I enjoyed about the first book was amplified in the second. Tho I wanted to shake a certain character and scream “PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER” but in the best way. I loved that this book had multiple POVs instead of just 2. It really allowed us to get even more insight about everything going on and you really needed it for this book. I cannot wait to read the 3 book when it releases
