The Quiet Tenant was one of the most fresh and riveting thrillers I’ve read in a long time. Don’t be surprised if you feel like you are the woman trapped in the shed. And just when you start to get bored or feel like it’s not moving quickly enough you’ll understand why things had to move slowly. A slow burn with a pounding pulse, I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read everything that Clémence Michallon writes from here on out.

Angeline has done it again. Perry reads much younger than Daunis but is twice as fiery as her auntie. I loved returning to Sugar Island to be with these characters and also the new ones we met along the way. This was also one of the few historical fiction books that I have read and wanted even more history from. I love the use of the indigenous language and the excerpts from actual anthropological studies at the opening of each chapter. I’m sad that I read this book because now who knows how long it will be before we get another one!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 77%.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with this book, I just got detached from the story and wanted to move on to something other than romance. This was perfectly cute with a lot of food descriptions. A bit like reading a sexy menu.
