A fantastic ending to a thoughtful journey. Coetzee manages to pull of so many things behind the curtain in this book, really a fantastic epitome of the genre of philosophical/ existential fiction. We might not always like where a story takes us, but this one delivers an adventure into self, other and world relationships and connections on a highly intellectual plateau. It is adventurous, emotional and challenging. I really enjoyed how much of the trilogy was brought into full light through the subtext and undertones of many of the developments which occur in this third installation. I would highly recommend this for people who want to reflect upon life and the meaning of subjectivity vs. cultural expectations.
