I expected a silly little book about high school romance and instead got a book about trauma and parental issues that ripped my heart open and then sewed it back together. the characters were so well written and their issues were so deep, I really appreciate that it didn't just magically resolve. their relationship was so complex and it was an amazing slow burn. when I finished it I stood up and applauded.

creating such a universe is absolutely remarkable. the book reminded me of the Borderlands games sometimes: the humour is very similar and 98% of the time I didn't understand why the fights were happening (which is probably completely my own fault). in general, I couldn't grasp sometimes what the fuck was going on but that's okay because the characters were amazing

a bunch of powerful witches realize that in the end, the power of ✨love and friendship✨ is much more powerful than magic. and i absolutely ate it up, 10/10 perfect comfort book
