incredible start but extremely disappointed in the ending, it felt like rio just ended the book out of nowhere, kind of like she got tired of writing it. this would’ve been a solid 4.5 for me, i loved the writing style and the cast of characters. i thought her character study of insomnia and late nights was brilliant but ugh im so frustrated with this.

i liked this book better than the first, but only bc of Elm and the Nightmare. i think that maybe this series just wasn’t for me? the writing style is great and i love the magic system but i just didn’t find myself super interested in it. i’m glad i read this in october though
