This should have had only one pov and that should have been her sister's pov. This is probably lower than 3 stars but I'm feeling generous because some parts really did intrigue me.
Cons: 1. That ending was a little too convenient for my liking 2. The male narrator of the audiobook 3. The murder of a pet. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ That was jarring.
4.5 stars ๐๏ธ๐คฉ๐ฅน๐ฉ๐ผโโค๏ธโ๐จ๐ผโค๏ธโ๐ฅ : "I am never going to say that it was for the best, or that it was meant to be. But I can say that sometimes from darkness a beautiful thing emerges, something you'll call your own."
Kate was so unbelievably human. She was flawed yes, but she was so real. And her and Beck just made so much sense.
I'll start with saying little trouble has my heart. ๐ฅน
Now onto the rest of the book. The secrets Lance and Tate discovered were mouth watering...but I hated the resolution. Everything was set up and dropped at the last minute e.g the angst with the wife, what was that resolution??? And then we get to the reason Sunshine left Tate and school behind...and then that's how it's resolved??? Ah. I was so frustrated. The church thing could also have been explored a little more. I wanted to see Lance struggle with his sexuality vs religion a little more. That was supposed to be a huge deal for his character. Also, Tate and his 'promiscuity'. We should have dug a little deeper into that.
Anyway, 20 hrs, plenty of spice and a second chance romance. ๐ It wasn't all too shabby!
The reason for the third act break up was revealed way too soon ...and turned the whole story into a waiting game more than anything else. The premise of the story was excellent. The smut was superb(that closet scene๐ฅด๐ฎโ๐จ). The execution of the story though, that left a lot to be desired.
