I loved this second book in the Princesses of Ruin series! Lily is such a spark-filled soul and Alastair is undeniably attractive on page and in my imagination. The age gap, the size difference, the fact that he’s her body guard… it all screams YES PLEASE to me.

If you love getting lost in a fantasy world with engaging characters and one heck of a plot, with plenty of spice, then you’ll love this. You can feel the attraction between Lily and Alastair — it’s so palpable. Ember did a beautiful job of bringing this book to life and I love it as much as I did the first!

I decided on a fast, smutty read to bring in the New Years and I was not disappointed! I was not looking for anything with a super intensive plot, so if that is what you are looking for, this book might not be for you, but if you are okay with a little bit of a plot, a love triangle, and a lot of smut with a decision to make between two men, then you are in the right place.

Ellie takes a job as a nanny for the Botticelli family and, to have some freedom and feel like she’s not working all the time, she’s housed in the main house with Sal. He comes home sooner than expected and Ellie is surprised by him in a very funny meet cute. Meanwhile, Ellie is trying to be the opposite of the innocent Southern girl and she’s already planning to go on a date with Angelo, Sal’s driver, who she finds attractive as well.

Like I always do, I am reading this series out of order because I saw a quote and was like “why the heck not?!” This books is great for readers who love spicy scenes, paddling/spanking, stalkers, and age gaps!

I will absolutely be checking out more of this authors work!

Lauren, I love you.

There. I said it.

Damnnnnnnnnn girl, the fantasy scenes in here. I. Am. In. Love. They were so freaking good. But the end, that ending. Oh man.

That ending is where it’s at. I think we need a full length book that follows Zoey and Michael as they explore their $ex lives and spice things up!!!

Some of Zoey’s thoughts are so relatable. And the comment she makes in her head about indecisiveness. YESSSS.

Men, just do it. Read the novella to find out what we are talking about or for a few bedroom ideas!

This is the first book I’ve read in YEARS that is set in an Omegaverse and it’s a Why Choose, which is one of my favorite tropes. I saw this either on Booksta or it popped up in my email (I honestly don’t remember) and the idea of two Omega’s together was a new twist from anything I remember reading before, so I just had to check it out!
Honestly, my favorite parts of this book revolve around Riley and Storm’s relationship. I love watching Riley come into herself as a stronger person with the help of Storm and her pack. I love how fiercely Storm loves and protects Riley. The FF part of this story is what really cinched it for me.
That being said, I loved aspects of each Alpha, Victor and Declan, and Ryan the Beta. I would love to read a novella about the twins meeting Ryan. I bet that would be hot.
I can’t wait for the next book because I feel like it will clear up a lot of things that I had questioned regarding what happened with Drew and his pack. I wish they had been released alongside each other!
Anyways, I loved this and will be looking at the authors backlog and following this series as it comes out!

This book is my favorite so far out of this series. Molly and her anxiety is intensely relatable and there were even a few scenes where she’s sharing herself that I cried. When she talked about shapeshifting and being “on”, I knew exactly what she was talking about and after reading the end acknowledgments I feel that maybe some of Molly is based on Denise.

If that’s so, you are not alone either. Neither of you are so no matter which one of you struggles with anxiety, we see you. I see you. This book made me feel seen.

Matthew reminded me so much of my husband. Giving Molly the strength to stand on her own. That’s a parallel I was able to draw in my own life.

The edition of a Christmas in this book was MAGICAL. It didn’t revolve around the entire holiday but it enhanced the magic that was already happening. I loved everything about Molly’s experience with the Hudson family and I might have cried during a few of those scenes too. Maybe even when she made the snowcat of Bear….

I am so happy that I signed up for an eARC of this book and this review is 100% my own. If you struggle with any form of anxiety, you may relate to Molly. If you struggle with feeling like you fit in, or like you’re not enough, you may relate to Molly. This book might help you heal. Grab it up!

Big, muscular ex-con daddy coming right up! We don’t see prison pen pals as a trope often, and I wish we had seen more of that side before Essa grew up and Eli got out of prison, even if it was just the letters themselves.

Eli spent seven years in prison and is now 31 and free. His pen pal, Essa, is just now 18 and in need of money so she’s going to auction her virginity off to the highest bidder. Eli tries to talk her out of it, but she won’t turn back. When a porn studio with a vendetta makes the winning bid, Eli agrees to be the one to take Essa’s virginity, despite Eli thinking he’s responsible for the murder of her father.

Essa is a well written virginal and inexperienced character who had to grow up fast because she had no choice. Her friend, Piper, is a good supporting character and I love that she’s into smutty books. I feel like the author put us readers into Piper’s personality.

Eli’s character, I have a few problems with but I think they may be contributed to spending seven years of his early adult life in prison and having an addiction. He frequently acts younger than his age, and slightly immature. There were quite a few moments where I wanted to smack him upside the head. As the daughter of an alcohol, some of his behavior was familiar and that may also be why I was harder on his character.

Overall, I feel like it’s a great first murder mystery for this author and a fantastic intro to this family/universe. I want to see more of Adon, Rhodes and Tate! The brother theme in books always gets me (note: Tate is Adon’s best friend, not a brother but it still counts in my head).

Also, the author said she would really overuse the “daddy” bit in this book. I’m here to tell you that it could have had more daddy and we would have been fine. ;-)

Full of drama, surprises, twists and turns, book two in the Tormented Symphony left me reeling. Book two picks up immediately where book one left off and we are dealing with the aftermath of those last few chapters.

Personally, Anna’s internal struggle with Nikita (the mental health representation within this book) is my favorite part. Often times, people who are schizophrenic or disassociate receive such a stigma but the way Sarah treated this with such care was amazing.

I love the characters and cannot wait for more of Rico, Cassie and the rest! If you’re looking for an action packed mafia romance, look no further than this series!
