🌶️🌶️🌶️ (halfway point and onward)

i am not a big fan of modern day references and there were a lot of them for current day social media and taylor swift (love). even though im not a fan does not mean this book wasn’t written well because boy it WAS
the main characters have insane chemistry immediately and the FMC is plus size so we love that even more
i loved the healing the main characters went through and the romance part of the book was written well too!
i would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes built up tension, grumpy/sunshine, plus size rep, and isn’t thrown off by modern day references 💞

this book hurt my feelings and gave me anxiety
but also in a good way?
i wasn’t sure if i would enjoy the back and forth between 2 different universes but holy cow…truly, one choice can set multiple worlds into motion and i think this book was so well written for that

ok definitely cried for this one
i LOVE how we got a bit of lore from the six crimson cranes, the other series from this author.
i also love that we got to learn more about Edan and spent more time with other characters in this book

the world building of this book was very good. i did not feel as attached to the characters as i want to be in a book so i feel kind of meh for the ending. the plot itself is so exciting though. i will be immediately starting the next one and just hope i grow to love them a bit more and will shed some tears unlike this one

this book goes DEEP into the five stages of grief. be prepared
i was not a big fan of the constant back and forth between past and present but i understand it was so we got to meet ben and learn to love him more than just that first chapter. overall, this was a very nice read. taylor’s writing, even as her first novel, is delicious.
my heart hurts but i love how it ended.

i really wish we got more of a backstory from the main characters but, overall, the story itself was good. the artwork is DIVINE and the writing was nice!

i wish we got more than how it ended
this book is so inspiring though. just because you hit 30+ in age, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dreams
the main character, Carrie, is certainly a character. she needs to CHILL the heck out..
anyway, made me a little sad but i didn’t have enough tears for it to be a 5/5

as the eldest child, this book really hurt my feelings and made my heart full
while there is a lot of back and forth between past and present, it was tasteful. it really flowed with the plot of the party and gave us the background we needed for our main characters
i definitely cried a bit and i cackled a LOT but, truthfully, this book was more emotional than i let on
TJR’s writing will always wow me and i had so many favorite quotes it was hard to choose just one for this review
i cannot wait to read another of their books

i don’t enjoy when the last chapter/epilogue is a time jump. i wish we got more from the time in between
BUT the writing?? STUNNING
the descriptiveness of this book captured me and had me in a choke hold the entire time. the plot itself? idk how i feel about it totally because it was spooky but not BOO spooky so i enjoyed it as a whole but it didn’t have major “wow” factors for me

short and sweet—really sweet. i enjoyed learning about the characters and that there was an actual plot for such a short book. very quick, lighthearted, and easy to read.
