I'de read other books in this series and went back to the first you can tell how far the writing has come as while I've enjoyed the rest of the series this one not so much every character feels like a caricature (azalea uncomfortablly so) and while in later books I like Charlie here he is more in the way <spoilers> the way that Rick is presented as amaybe suspect that has keys to godfreys collection is crazy, charlie tells no one. Also who broke in and stole the stuff?? And why?? No one has a motive for that. the misdirection from Julia was really well done I honestly didn't believe it was her until she started slipping however there was so much time pointing fingers from person to person I got tired of reading it <spoilers> I'm very glad I did not start the series with this

Did I absolutely love this book? Yes I sincerely hope a sequel is on its was and I think they did an amazing job setting up this world and making me care for the characters however I wish there was more interaction between the main group I understand in because of

the mirror craft we weren't able to see a lot of candid convos about escape but some random convos to tie them together more would be nice in the same vein I feel like some of the character development should have been shown to us more then told to us. I really hope to see the 'reality' of the romantic developments mid revolution as they seem to be very good at writing how something good can feel during dark times <Spoiler> I actually liked the switching povs which I normally do not and I am wishing for a sequel for Christmas lol

Great first book in the series I liked how some of the things in the character personality are called out as annoying by others it makes them feel real however the other girls besides Cassie don't feel too fleshed out hope to see them develop more in the series overall a good read
