This might be the best book I've read all year. I can't wait to see what else the author comes out with, this is a really stunning debut novel.

This was not at all what I expected, but it was truly beautiful. Highly recommend, it's like a Gothic fairy tale

There's something about the author's writing style that drags a bit and can make a story feel slow, but overall I did enjoy this book

I almost decided to stop reading this about 100 pages in. I really liked the unique elements of the story with the monster and the plague, I feel like the very heavy-handed Romeo and Juliet equivalent had actually been done a lot lighter. As written, this just feels extremely cluttered and like the author is trying to fit too many things into one story
