I immediately want to pick up the next one. Which considering book 5 is out very soon, perhaps I should.

Quick caveat Horror is not a usual genre that I pick up. So some of the things going on were pretty jarring and just made me go 'WTF' numerous  times lol. The story did feel a little too long. Also, Mary is so incredibly unlikable, being stuck in her head was tough.

Some great themes throughout the book (perimenopause, patriarchy, women's health, isolation, religion, cults, etc). The ending was really good, I definitely didn't put it down once we got close to Easter.

This was just a really fun read. The mystery was good, the slow introduction of clues seemed well placed. I really enjoyed the humour of the character/author talking to the audience. Even the page breaks and sections titles were funny sometimes.

I'll definitely read the other books in this series.

I think this just wasn't a book for me.

Sometimes it took me awhile to figure out which pov it was in. It certainly had its positives with themes of classism, generational trauma, violence and abuse towards women. But how the message was delivered just didn't work for me. Unsure if any of this may be due to translation.

A very easy read considering it was written in the 1800s. Even with that said the writing is superb. Particularly the sections where the monster is relaying his first few months of life.

A super cute and cozy fantasy romance. Quick read.

Caz was hands down the best character.
