I enjoyed the ending of this book. I really enjoyed the mysteries, the development between Nesryn and Sartaq, I loved Yrene’s story, I love her power and her growing from hatred. But for the love of god I hated this book for how heavy Chaol’s character is implemented in it. I hate that mf.

Gods be damned, this book absolutely broke me. The beginning felt like I was wading through murky waters, lost in a sea of information and even being mislead as a reader from certain plots until the very end. Very well written, and that ending is and ending I will not forget any time soon. Aelin’s sacrifices, her plots, so much she kept hidden from her loved ones and ourselves as readers. A truly unreliable narrator. The truths revealed in the end truly cleaves me open into devastation. Everything absolutely ties together neatly like a perfectly destructive blow to your already hopeful heart. The only thing that continues my hope is the path these characters are taking into setting things right. A beautiful read.

  1. Sam was a character I did not get along with. He was stubborn and honestly got what was coming to him.
But it does make my gut turn to know that one of his friends dogs ate his fucking face off and killed him. like i’m sorry, what kind of dog naturally does that… I don’t really remember this dog from the beginning but maybe he was introduced to have been a biter. either way, a dog capable of eating a humans face off for being still for so long is a dog i think that should be put down and i normally am not the type of person to support that.
.  The moonsphere was a confusing concept but I think I understand that as he spent more time in it, the sphere was almost using his own energy to continue fulfilling the dreams,
thus at the end, all of his energy was used up and he literally could not drive his real world body to get up as he was being eaten alive by his friends dogs.
Also I absolutely cannot blame the friends here, Sam became distant and cold long before then and this is kinda the repercussions of that. I was hoping for a better ending on this one,
and I wonder if he just stays in a dream like state for the rest of time? I’m not sure if he ever truly gets to die if his subconscious being is trapped in a different world, a dream world.
I enjoyed how they utilized Moondrops character to build this story, a lot better than the one with the sun guy. 4/5 stars
  2. This story pissed me off. The only redeeming factor is that the guy
who met his untimely fate due to springlock failure in the springtrap suit, he ended up saving kids from a potential murderer/pedophile.
But those friends of his pissed me off. First of all the manipulated him into the suit when he was clearly uncomfortable, but then after everything went down they fucking left him. including the more neutral of the friends. I was low key hoping that the guy in the Springtrap suit would get possessed and return the favor to the friends, but this was just sad.
he just died and died a hero, but no one is going to know he died a hero when he gets found.
    3/5 stars
  3. This story isn’t really my favorite and i kept zoning out at parts. I think that the main character being fat, after being handed trauma that brought on his fear of entrapment, he developed like a binge eating disorder to counteract his fear. But, as a bigger dude afraid of being trapped, he still went into those small tubes with Ballora. I think the horror aspect of this story was a little boring,
as all that happened was he indeed got stuck and Ballora dragged him through the too small tubes and the friction and pulling basically stretched him to death, as well as forcing some of his facial features to rip off on the sides of the tubes.
With all that being said, he apparently survives but then
the coworkers literally talked themselves into not reporting the man dying although they know for a fact he is alive since he was blinking. The only thing I thought was clever was that when the employees went to go check on the guy stuck in the tubes, literally dying lol, they mentioned the roleplaying arena and “checking that out tomorrow.” Insinuating that they are probably going to come across the bodies of those in the springtrap suits.
    3.5/5 stars
  4. The ending stories do not work for me. After having listened to 3 short horror stories about fnaf, I honestly do not want to listen to another story that is split up between all of the other books. It makes it really hard to follow. I really have no clue what is going on right now, and i probably won’t go back and listen. All I have gathered is teens are trapped in this building getting killed by some animatronic thing, literally ripping heads off, but I really have no context on the characters, why they are there, what’s the point of this story. It being separated between each individual book, after having read/listened to 3 short stories, it’s hard to remember anything from that last section of the book that continues where we left off 3 stories ago from the last book. I wonder if that makes sense lol.

Honestly it was really close to a 5 star read but it didn’t leave me feeling like my usual 5 star reads. I think this book was pleasantly paced, and I actually rather enjoyed every perspective’s story that was told in that book and how it was interconnecting and weaving. The plot twists are insane. Rowan and Aelin give me hope but for my own sanity I need them to address the lifespan of Aelin being that of a humans and Rowan’s being of fae’s (centuries older than her). Chaol might’ve been what made my rating so low (only a 4.75 lol) because I genuinely hated reading his perspective in the beginning. He blamed Aelin for everything she could not control and then acted like he was more mentally stable than her like man you are actually insane. Aedion is like a comfort character to me now, alongside Lysandra. I’m so glad I got reunited with Fleetfoot, if only for a fleeting moment. I think the kings death was super quickly dismissed and that either is to build a plot twist later or lazy writing… Manon honestly quickly grew to one of my favorites, but her story was honestly a blessing to read when i got to it. Nesryn was a character I was surprised I grew to like too. Sorry not to keep jumping points this is like a rough draft for what i write in my journal, but I fear the ending just felt so rushed, too complete, when we know there is still a lot more to come. I’m glad it had a resolution but it felt like it was attempting to end the series. But with all my complaints I seemed to have so much to say so it at least deserves whatever rank is below the best lol.

Wow this book in the series was incredible. What a journey, and such revelations. What an empowering story it is to watch Celaena become Aelin, own her identity, her past, her truth, what she must do. And Rowan was a character I desperately needed in this series. I had many heartbreaks at the end of the book, many reveals that had me enraged. I literally shook with anger lol, I feel like a book deserves 5 stars if you pull genuine emotion from me (considering I have an impenetrable mask while reading lol I do not get emotional visibly easily)

I honestly can barely remember the stories besides Happs, and that one was memorable because it was good. It is the reason this gets 3 stars.

This novel is amazingly written and I am completely glad I read it when I did. My favorite story being the one written about the silent assassins, that short story pulled genuine emotions out of me and raw confusion and terror at the realizations being made.
Arobynn when i get my hands on you, you will be nothing remaining but a mere maggot, which is what you are on the inside. BECAUSE WHY HE GO “I don’t like to share,” WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

Celaena is much more understandable after this book, but also, I fear reading this book before going into the series would be the wrong choice. I needed that annoyance, that anger towards the character i read from in those novels to truly build her character and understanding from this novel. it was beautifully paced, and it was genuinely the best book out of the series I have read so far.

I still refuse to give this a 5 star because I know I felt I was dragging at some points. My five star reads I just know I devoured and refused to talk about. This one just left me complacent and content. Well not really but I kinda saw the betrayal that happened and thus it felt duller
