Difficult book to review because I’ve seen so many negative ones. Im just really ambivalent.  I would say I love reading about poppy and Casteel.
I did not like the character development of Kiran. It feels like she is working towards a love triangle. For me personally, I’m too invested into the epic love between poppy and Casteel. So I’ve judged skipped the chapter about the joining. Didn’t need it or want it. But it feels like selling Kiran short
I personally liked the story development and entwining FBAA and ASITA. Like I said there are so many negative opinions out there about AWOTQ it is difficult to have an open mind even after waiting a while to write a review. I believe the build up to
free Casteel
took too long. It could have been much shorter. I got confused about all the different types of gods, deities and whatever introduced. Especially at the end. I have hopes of the upcoming book steering away of a love triangle and merging the FBAA and ASITA worlds either completely or cutting it off. But I do wonder what is left to tell in the remaining 2 to 3 books.

I really liked Summer. Laughed a lot while reading and she is just cute and loveable.

Loved it! Only wished it was 300 pages longer. But… the new series sounds promising. Like everything Alessa Thorn writes!

I’m not a fan of the
pregnancy trope
, but it was done okay. I liked the character development linked to it.

This was just nice. Something to grap for ‘in between’. It was incredibly lighthearted. The kind of book you don’t need that much of an attention span for.

There is enough plot to keep you reading, you’d wish it was a few 100 pages longer. The character building was very nicely done. Definitely recommend reading it.

I loved this book because it is set in the blood and ash universe. It is a bit similar to fba in character development. Once you’ve heard it, you can’t unsee it. Maybe a bit slower then fba too. What I like about the book is that is explains why you didn’t understand the world when you first started reading fba. It sort of reads as extra world building - to me at least.
