this was such a fun slowburn enemies to lovers read!! if it doesn’t make me angry with how close they are to getting together but aren’t, i don’t want it. ari has her commitment issues for sure but the resolution was so good it makes up for it!!! this was such a fun book with such good banter and modern humor/writing that didn’t feel too cringey or too modern if that makes sense. the side characters are silly and i loved them just as much as the main characters. i actually hadn’t heard of this book until i saw it on a display at barnes and noble that said “FALL-ing in love”; i wanted something cute and seasonal in between my throne of glass read while i had my internship going on and this was perfect for it!!!! i’d definitely recommend it if you’re into slowburn with good banter/chemistry

this was a really cute and quick read!!! the last 50 pages i found myself reading so eagerly. the characters are super cute and the plot is simple but fun. it could be a bit juvenile at times and almost felt too modern, i don’t like my book characters knowing what tiktok is but i do love them knowing what d&d is hehehe. i didn’t realize it was a YA book when i bought it but learned that quickly and learned to live with it, it just made it feel more lighthearted. overall a cute lil story to keep me happy in between my intense throne of glass read; it was on a stand at barnes and noble about cute fall romances and i couldn’t pass it up, i love fall!!!! i love romance!!!!!

this was a pretty quick read but i enjoyed it! a queer supernatural noir story? that’s my bread and butter right there! edith and helen’s love is one that defies their very existence, bending the rules of life just to be with each other. a charming short read about the sheer passion and dedication to those you love, with a little supernatural twist

i will recommend this book to everyone i meet to the end of time. oh my god. this immediately became one of my favorite books before i was even done with it!!! the writing is excellent and very quick to read and the plot is so unique, it had me enthralled and anytime i had to put it down i just wanted to pick it back up! piranesi is THE fantasy/mystery i never knew i wanted but absolutely needed. the journal entry format is so cool and not something i see often in fantasy; i can’t say much without spoiling the main twist but it was so amazing and captivating to go on this journey of self-discovery alongside piranesi!!!!!!

this book was INSANE to say the least!!!!!!!! they say the last 100 pages of any sjm book are gonna be crazy, but the last 20 pages?!?!?!
sorscha!!!! and dorian’s wyrdstone collar from the king!!!!! and chaol fleeing the castle!!!!!!
this was such a fantastic journey, i loved seeing celeana grow into her abilities, and to see her and rowan’s relationship grow and soften into such dedication to each other; i was so happy when he immediately
got out of his blood oath with maeve just to make a new one with celeana right in front of her LOL
!!!! my only gripe is that they had so many scenes together where celeana was like damn he’s got muscles i lowkey wanna hit that to distract myself from chaol…….then she was like “let’s go see our aunt 🤓☝🏻” before they met with maeve in doranelle and i was like OUR aunt……babygirl……..!!!!!!! i really like them as close friends and i’m scared sjm is setting up a romance between the two of them, and while i love their banter and friendship i cannot ignore that they are (albeit distantly) related. other than that i literally could not put this book down and bought queen of shadows before i even finished it so i can continue with my throne of glass read right away, then onto the tandem read!!! this was such a five star read for me, the last 20 pages really sealed the deal, even if i had to take some breaks in the last 100 pages (watching the presidential debate, petting my cats, drinking a half gallon of mango green tea, you know the vibes).

i was 75 pages in and didn’t read for two weeks and just finished the remaining 343 in a matter of two days because i was HOOKED. i was insanely proud of myself because i had a feeling celeana
was aelin for a while
but didn’t have definite evidence just was trying to piece things together and when i told my bestie lindsay she gave me a look and told me i was crazy but she knew LOLLL. anyway this book was so intense like i could not put it down it was all i thought about.
chaol and celeana’s
relationship was so
devastating but cute and im so happy they kind of made up, i hope their relationship rekindles in future books
. i feel like this book had such great character development for celeana, chaol, and dorian and i can’t wait to see where their stories go!!

this book definitely hooked me more than assassins blade did; in the first twenty pages i expected the competition to be very hunger games but it was not and i actually prefer how it was done! i think the
murders
added a complexity to the tests/competition i hadn’t been expecting and it was a well written side plot. i will say i didn’t expect
cain
to be the one
summoning the demons to murder for him
!! there were definitely some hints to it throughout i didn’t pick up on though. i also really loved celeana and nehemia’s friendship, it was endearing, especially after everything that happened
last time she tried to befriend a girl in assassins blade LOL
. the one thing that piqued my interest was elena telling celeana that
”blood ties can’t be broken” when celeana thanked her for saving her

this is a short story about a woman interviewing a man about his supernatural experience dealing with algae. it was super interesting, i love when nature horror books (ie this and annihilation) describe the horror in an abstract way, so you form your own idea of what it looks like. the ending i kind of saw coming once she got stuck in traffic on her way home but i like that it’s open ended enough where you don’t know if
she survives or not

i read assassin’s blade first in this series and i’m glad i started with it! although i was in a reading slump at about the halfway point, once i picked it back up i was so locked in!!! the reading slump wasn’t caused by this book but i did feel it dragged slightly at some points.
i’m very sad about sam i was so excited for their lives together :(((
!!! celeana is a baddie and i truly did not expect the ending of this book; what a twist from the beginning!! i’m very interested to see how throne of glass plays out considering the events of the last novella
