Kora and Tariq have been best friends for 20 years and have been through everything with each other. Their friendship has also been a friends with benefits situation for years.  The arrangement has been fine until the realization that they want to be more to each other friends hits them hard.

I enjoyed this story and I understood how/why their partners would question their friendship because I wish my man would have another woman’s clothes in his closet.  Kora and Tariq are the reasons husbands and wives don’t trust friends of the opposite sex.

Definitely worth the read.

Terrance and Gabi are back, with their beautiful little girl but their lives are no longer a fairytale. This was a good twist to their story. Sabrina got on my nerves and I loved how Gabi handled her. Preston got exactly what he deserved for what he did to Gabi. It was refreshing that considering everything they went through, Terrance and Gabi stood up for each other until the end. Beautiful ending.

I loved Gabi and Terrance. This was a quick, office romance that was comical and emotional at times.

Two young lawyers, trying to keep their relationship professional but neither Gabi nor Terrance were prepared to develop the feelings they shared for each other. However, the heart wants what it wants and their hearts wanted each other. Gabi’s parents and Matthew were a lot to deal with and I was so happy she put her foot down with them. I loved how Uncle Bobby loved her and supported her decisions. Him and Veronica though, whew, I wasn’t expecting that. I also enjoyed how welcoming Terrance’s aunt and sister were with Gabi.

This was heavy but beautifully written.  This story could be very triggering for some but there was so much beauty in the layers, made the read very worth it.

Kyle, turns to small town Sugar Valley to cope with the unimaginable. The trip is supposed to be able her conquering the mountain and “finding herself.”  Kyle ends up finding herself and so much more.  Ben is Sugar Valley forest ranger and a lifetime resident, who has been hiding behind his own unresolved pain and loss.  One thing Ben absolutely doesn’t want, is a relationship.

Due to a mountain fall, Ben and Kyle have an unpleasant first encounter that leads to the unexpectant. This story was enjoyable for so many reasons.  First, Ben is the town a-hole but I loved it. He kept me laughing with his attitude and his back story put everything in perspective. Kyle was time enough for him though.

The relationship between Kyle and Ben was cute but I mostly enjoyed how they ended up having the tough conversations.  The way the town embraced Kyle was sweet and allowed her to feel at home when she needed it most.  Sugar Valley offered her love.  I also loved Ben’s mother.  Ms. Regina was just as funny as her son.  “She looked like she had been rode hard and put away wet.”  That line had me laughing so hard.

Overall, this was an excellent read.  There is no timeframe on grief and there is no way to tell a person how they should look or act during the grief process.

Just like the synopsis states, The Point of It All grief, illness, and death that could be triggering for some readers.

Sugar Valley series has been the best series I’ve read by Christina C. Jones so far.  She writes about very tough topics in a way that allows you to feel the emotion of the characters but not be weighed down heavily with emotion.

Honey Branch Winery and it’s rich history, brings Eva and Luke together.  While Eva is trying to restore the beauty of the winery she has recently purchased, Luke is happy to assist.  Afterall, his grandmother was the original owner of Honey Branch.  The history of the winery and Luke’s battle with his family relationships, was compelling and I could read more about it.  As they worked together at the winery, their relationship grows.  A future looks great for Luke and Eva, until Eva reveals she is battling a disease she refuses to seek treatment for. While I understood why Eva made her decision, I also wanted her to change it.  One of the biggest battles of this story, was Eva trying to convince her loved ones that her decision was the right one.  But could you sit and watch someone you love die, when there is a chance they can overcome? That question made me understand the position of Eva’s friends and family.

Luke was the opposite of Ben in personality but it was easy to see why they were best friends. Luke’s patience and acceptance of Eva were admirable.  He fell in love with her despite the odds and he loved her beautifully.  Even Eva and Leon’s relationship was cute.  I applauded her for making the best decision she felt she needed to make for herself unapologetically.

I would definitely recommend this series.
