This book is just not my type of book. I hated the writing and it was super cringy but… it was entertaining. I almost DNF’d 90% through but I was so close to finishing that I just had to complete it!

When I first started reading this book I hated it. I didn’t like it right away because this is my first fantasy book and it’s not my preferred genre. The only reason I didn’t DNF is because it’s our bookclub pick. I found El insufferable plus the made up names always confuse me but after the first 100 pages I understood a lot more of what was going on! By the end of the book I started to really feel for these characters and their wellbeing. I haven’t felt connected to characters in a book for so long! I forgot what that felt like!

I felt like this book was good. It’s a pretty average book. This book wasn’t anything special and it wasn’t very thought provoking for me. I hated how the police went about the crime. They didn’t do anything at all! It just didn’t add up with the severity of the case. Other than this I did enjoy the book it just wasn’t anything spectacular.

This book entertained me in the beginning… I felt like the book was more so character driven but there was no character development so I felt like I read this book for nothing. The ending also fell flat for me.

I only read this series because it’s entertaining and fast paced. The writing isn’t great but it’s entertaining so I’ll continue to read the series. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others. I felt like the ending was the only part I liked.
