This book was a blast to read. The characters are loveable and their story is over much too quickly!
Plus, there's one point in the novel where I was so angry (on behalf of the characters) that I spite read late into the night just to see them vindicated.
A wonderful dark novel from beginning to end. There are few horror novels that capture the fleeting feeling of suburbia quite like this one does.

Wow! That was a harrowing read.
Kingfisher perfectly blend Poe with a modern take of fungus. This short novel captures that delicate stillness of death so often reflected in Poe's works. And, it expands upon The Fall of the House of Usher in a way that celebrated the short stories ideas, and expands upon them in a compelling way.
I read this novel in two short bursts, maybe three or four hours in total. It's a short read, but enjoyable from the first page to the last. Plus, it's got some gender-queerness that I appreciated!
In a word, this novel is haunting.

Started Wool after watching the first episode of the TV adaptation. It's an easy read that kept me going chapter to chapter.
If you enjoy the TV show, its additive to a lot of the bones you'll find within the novel. That said, on its own the novel is a good read, I'm excited to dive into the second book!

This is a phenomenal novel, full of exciting ideas, relatable adventure, and wonderful prose.
It's a short read, I finished it in just a few hour long sittings, but it's enjoyable all the through. Very few dull moments.
I only wish there were more. The world that Ballingrud imagines seems small at the start, but quickly grows. There are so many intriguing ideas that could be full novels all their own here, and I'd like to see them explored!

A breezy read (or listen!) Loveable characters blend with silly sci-fi for what is, perhaps, one or my favorite feel-good sci-fi stories this year!
Even though it's whimsical at times, the stakes are high and the characters are compelling. Their dynamics are fun and fleshed out.
If you want something light and/or quick to read, this is the novel for you
