This may be my favorite historical romance of 2024. I’ve read 44 books this year, and in that time l’ve never found a character as relatable as Lydia. In her moments of anxiety and self-doubt, I saw myself. As a fellow wallflower, reading her struggles about socializing and fitting in made me feel seen. Her story proves that despite your quirks, you’re worthy of being loved and accepted as you are, which is something I resonate with deeply.

The addition of mystery was a refreshing twist. Finding out that it’s inspired by actual historical events was an added bonus. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to my romance reader/historical fiction friends. The anxious girly representation was spot on and the romance/spice did not disappoint. What more could you ask for?

As a huge Jane Austen enthusiast, I absolutely loved this Emma adaptation! The language and tone were spot on for the time period, making it feel authentic. I especially enjoyed seeing more of George and Emma, and all the other characters were spot on. The plot twists and “whodunnit” mystery kept me hooked from start to finish. If you're an Austen fan or just love a good mystery, this is a must-read.

Lark, a vibrant animator from Texas, relocates to Galway on a work visa, hoping to heal from a recent loss. There, she meets her new neighbor, Callum—a mortician on a mission to marry before his 35th birthday to keep the family business. On the surface, they seem like polar opposites, but their connection runs far deeper than anyone could imagine.

As soon as I was approved for this ARC, it went straight to the top of my TBR. This story beautifully illustrates how opposites not only attract but also complement and uplift each other. Lark may have her stubborn moments, but the dynamic between her and Callum is captivating and wholesome. She helps lift his spirits, while he grounds her, making them seem like two perfect halves of a whole. I loved every moment of this story and couldn't put my kindle down until I finished.
Fingers crossed the next book in the series is Cielo and Aidan!!

I’m a sucker for books with a witchy/magical theme. Maybe it’s because my mom named me after one of the most popular teenage witches in pop culture, but I digress.

This book was an absolute delight, packed with humor and genuinely lovable characters. It was wholesome in the best way possible, and I finished each chapter with a smile on my face. The author did an amazing job pacing the story, nothing felt rushed and I was fully engaged during the entire book. So, if you’re searching for a whimsical romance with an enthralling plot for Fall or Halloween, this is it.

Read this book if you love:
• Halloweentown
• Twitches
• Practical Magic
• Sabrina the Teenage Witch
• Romance with a dash of spice
• Found family
• Magical lore
• Line dancing

I would not change anything about this book. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
