It’s taken me so long to finish this book, I found myself struggling to read through chapters. You can tell through every chapter and every character perspective that the author is struggling to write. This plot is growing tired and slow. I believe the plot of the next book and this one should have been mixed instead of there being another book coming.

Infact when I initially read this, I skipped 30 chapters (reading on ebook) and when I got to Diana’s perspective nothing had changed, they were still fighting and she was still keeping secrets. I went back to read the chapters I had missed out of disbelief that nothing happened since then but no nothing truly happened. She dragged it out for far too long and the way I can read it and tell about 500 pages could be taken out and nothing would strange is baffling.

I thought it was beautifully written and I would not usually pick up a book about drug use/addiction.

I thought it was a beautiful piece on age gaps, desperation and the despair in addiction and falling apart.

I bought this for a long train journey, it’s a quick read and quite fascinating.

I would the book intriguing and it definitely left me perplexed! I never read metamorphosis so that shirt story flew over my head. I have now googled it and find it interesting.

I do believe Murakami will be a classic writer for years to come, I can definitely see this being studied in English Class, this meaning in the best way possible.

The Transgender Issue: An Argument for Justice by Shon Faye

Shona Faye is an excellent writer, I picked up the transgender issue because over the past couple of years I have heard more and more in regards to transgender people and transphobia.

As someone who is cis in the queer community, I did not have a clue about transgender issues and such. I heard here and there but was misinformed.

This book was innovative, informative and inciting. It is  an amazing book and highlights exactly where the media and the transgender issue begins. Shona Faye does a great job at highlighting the media’s fear mongering  and blame thrown.

The book was very interesting and informative to read, especially in regards to the ongoing genocide in Palestine! I highly recommend it for anyone like me who was unaware of the full extent of what is happening in Gaza and the change that needs to happen!!!
