Thank you to the publisher and author for an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After getting drunk and accidentally cursing a necklace after seeing her ex on a night out which is subsequently accidentally sold to Alex, a magician with a vest selling stage show, Poppy finds herself working with Alex to find and disable the necklace before it hurts anyone else.

I enjoyed the magic and overlap with our modern world and the banter and slow burn with poppy and Alex is good fun but overall and some of the adventures their task leads them on.. but some of this felt a little predictable and overly cutsie for my personal tastes.

That said, if you want a cute fluffy autumnal witchy romance with some magical drama, spice and secrets then this may be the book for you, it just didn’t suit my personal taste.

Tiva has been in prison for 10 years after being arrested at 7 with her father for simply being nearby when he was arrested for equally tedious reasons.

Tiva is now the prison healer and while she tries not to get attached to people in a prison that will work you to death, she can’t help but find herself forming bonds with some excellent characters.

When the rebel queen comes into her completely unconscious with Tiva unable to figure out her ailment and rouse her, Tiva takes her place in the trials issued to the queen in order to keep her alive long enough to help her wake.. all while trying to solve the question of the illness sweeping through the prison killing prisoners before it takes her friends.

This book is fantastically written, the pacing is perfect, the characters are well realised and written and everytime you think you have something worked out, something else is revealed.

I cannot believe it took me so long to read this! Fantastic read.

Imagine finding out that your estranged uncle had passed away and left you his villain agency.. which just happens to have sentient cats as management.. that’s the underlying plot of this book.

Now that may sound ridiculous and that is exactly what has our main character questioning this the whole way through but finding himself with little other option.

This I really well written, it doesn’t take itself too seriously which I really enjoyed and it just delivers on every page. I had a really great time with this and honestly the animals are just fantastic!

Thank you to the publisher and author for an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This whole series fell someone middle ground for me, I enjoyed it enough to continue on and finish but it wasn’t amazing to me.

All of the books follow a similar process with some twists on characters we all know.

For me, I enjoyed the build up and the angst for the first three quarters of each book but the last quarter of each book just felt a little too fast for me personally.

By this point in the series, this honestly just felt predictable and personally I was a bit over it

This was actually my favourite across the series as the pacing felt more natural and the character development also felt more natural and I love their dynamic and how they grow together and work through some past issues

This one was my least favourite in the series but that’s a personal taste of I don’t enjoy Daddy & Baby Girl together as pet names so that felt very cringe to me.

This is a Christmas special that just makes you all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

This is a novella so it’s short and sweet and while I could have totally got lost in this story for longer, it was fantastic and gave everything it needed to and I had a great time
