I loved this book. Visiting a copy of my favorite book of 2023, when I came across this one. What caught my eye was the cross word on the front. Once I read about the eccentricities of the main character I immediately knew it was going to be good ◡̈

I saw ‘Cari can reads’ show this as one of her favorite books of the year so far and new I wanted to read it. So once I saw it in Barnes & Noble in the most beautiful edition I had to read it immediately. The book was very engaging and fast paced, since it’s compared to six of crows so much I have to check that one out

This book is a difficult one to rate. I enjoyed the read and I found myself wanting to know what happened and continue to turn the page, but there was something missing for me. I would still recommend it and it does make me want to read more Feeney books. The reveal was a twist that I did call but also enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the beginning of the book. I wish there was more about the circus though. from the basis of the book I thought we would see more of the acts and get to know the circus folks. There was a bit too much spice for me but that can be personal preference. The ending was a bit repetitive, which is why I gave it 3 stars, it just felt a bit lacking for me

I love the authors so much. She is my favorite! I definitely want to keep reading the series. I felt like the plot development wasn’t as strong as her other later works, she has grown so much as an author. I loved the twist of the ending side story.

Going to come back to the rating because I have conflicting feels about the end before the resolution. But I really loved these characters, I related to our main character very much. I read it for valentines and it was perfect. Highly recommend for a quick day read or a plane read! It’s fast
