This book is so underrated!!! While its geared towards a young adult audience I think a lot of people could still benefit from reading this. I feel like I've learned a lot from this book and the characters were extremely likeable and had great conversations with each other. All of the relationship dynamics are so well-done in my opinion. I can't recall a single time where this book was boring are easy to put down. Almost a year later as I'm writing this and I still remember most of the book (which is great for my memory lol).

What can I say, I loved the movie so I had to read the book. Obviously there are major differences between the two versions but I still appreciated the new perspectives that are focused on in the book. There were actual a handful of good quotes that I underlined from it that I really liked and I'll probably revisit. It's short, fast, and fun. Does it stand-out? Not really. A lot of it also reads like its time of publication which was a while ago, so it can have an out-dated feel to it in terms of YA.

Wish I had marked which short stories I liked the most within this collection but I was reading through this so fast that I didn't even stop to think about that at the time. My current four star rating of this might change as I continue to read short story collections now, but I think this was pretty good. So many of them were so bizzarre but I liked the undertones of all of them. I would say there were only two or three that weren't as good as the others. It was a good collection for me to pick up when I did and I appreciate it for what it did for me at that time. Is it a new favorite? Not really, but it has led me to search for more short story collections to read than I would have before so I take that as a win!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
Okay I might finish this at a later point because I'm kind of intrigued by the new Hawthorne Brothers book (I would hope it dives into their individual characters a bit more than we have in these books). I was really enjoying the series - especially since I finished the first two in record time. This one just… fell so flat for me. I think it lost most of it's intrigue: I don't care about any of the plot lines it's following right now, none of the main '"mysteries" spark my curiosity. I thought the second book tied everything together in an a semi-satisfying way. The way the first two books were I think this story would have benefitted from only being a duology. I don't see the need for this third book, but I can see how some people would want it to continue. I just feel like I'm not getting anything new from it, and its backtracking for a lot of things and SO much repetition. I just feel like I'm forcing myself to continue reading this book so I have come to the conclusion to just DNF it. I can't let this book be the reason I get into another reading slump.
