Probably the best fantasy book I've ever read.

I have rarely read books with characters this complex, and their relationships with each other are explored in such depth that this alone makes the book worth a reading.

The magic system is on the simpler side, which perfectly complements the story, since the magic isn't its focus - the people are.

I truly cannot find a fault in the entire book.

The third act conflict is extremely forced, the transphobic bit was (to say the very least) unnecessary, the spicy scene was weird.

The thing with her mother felt rushed at the end, which is absurd since she is the reason everything in the book happens.

Also, this woman severely misunderstood the phrase "fuck the police".

Lastly, naming your daughter Rose Rhodes is a hate crime.

When it comes to works like these, they should be accessible to as many people as possible. This work does not come in my native language, I read books in English all the time, yet I had trouble reading it. If you want to support politics, the language should be for the people as well.
