I love the Gilmore Girls references! This book got me ready for the best season of all…Gilmore, er, fall. This sister’s best friend, second chance romance got me in my feels. Everly and her daughter Willow found a family who loved them unconditionally and finally had the support they needed to get back on their feet. Plus there was Nash who would move heaven and earth for Everly. She was always the right girl at the wrong time for him. He did his best to get his act together, keeping some of his accomplishments a secret. When Everly and Nash started talking again, it was the beginning of forever for them. Apart they were strong, but together they were formidable. I hope the author continues this family’s storyline because I have to know about Hayley and Kincaid and how things turn out for them!

Daisy Larsson and Beckett Heyward were once step-siblings. Aside from Beckett's father, Beckett was the only other person who made Daisy's life bearable. Fast forward several years. Beckett's father has passed and Daisy inherits half of the vineyard. But it comes with many stipulations. Beckett's is irate at the thought of Daisy inheriting anything. He's convinced her mother Astrid is behind it all.

I loved the whole enemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine vibe that emanated throughout the story. It added to the banter between Daisy and Beckett. And all that hate??? Totally added to the steam! There were times when I wanted to knock Beckett's head because he didn't give Daisy the chance she deserved in the beginning. He was projecting all his animosity from her mother Astrid on to Daisy from the get-go. But, oh when the tables turned... and the author brought the steam! Then there was the break up. OMG BECKETT! His mea culpa moments. Their reunion. Sigh... all the feels for this couple and their story!

With each book in this series comes even more characters to get to know and fall in love with! Wyatt Wilder is a bit jaded when it comes to relationships. His ex-wife cheated on him with his ex-best friend. To make things just a little more complicated, when things go south for Ava (said ex bestie’s ex wife) at her waitressing job, he hires her as his assistant manager at the bar. While it seemed a little wrong to start a relationship with each other, it was evident from the beginning that Wyatt and Ava belonged together. Big bonus—he treated her daughter Faith with respect and love. Theirs was not an easy path. There’s the mystery of who robbed the bar and the exes who are making trouble. Add in Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke as the narrators and you have a stellar story of finding happiness where you least expect it. These narrators are talented individuals who bring the characters and story to life.

It must be almost Gilmore Girls season... err... fall. This book took me right into the season with its vivid descriptions of the area and the changing colors. Then we have the aptly named Autumn Travis who lived for all things fall. She worked with her two best friends as a barista while waiting for her time to shine as the next bestselling author. Except she can't write. Enter one Zane Alexander. Their first meeting was anything but friendly. He basically called her espresso crap (BIG LIE). Even while the animosity was at an all time high, the connection they felt to each other was something they couldn't explain or ignore. For Autumn, Zane was her real life Mr. Dreamy, a man she dreamed about in great detail right down to his mannerisms. For Zane, he felt like he knew her at more than surface level. And while Zane forced friendship on Autumn which turned into a fake relationship to stave off her ex, their relationship went deep. This book was more than just about two people who fall in love. It's about being open to new experiences, finding courage, believing in oneself, and forgiveness.

This was a short, kinda sweet, second chance romance. Everett and Dahlia were high school sweethearts. They were supposed to spend forever together, but Dahlia broke things off. Everett is back in town to celebrate his engagement to someone else. It was inevitable that they run into each other in this small town. She has evidence that his current fiance is cheating. He finds the news unbelievable since cheating is exactly how she broke things off.

While I would have preferred a longer book, the author gave us the characters' back story so succinctly that I could easily fall in love with the characters and root for that happy ending.
