This was the last book I read in 2021 and I think it was maybe my favourite!!

Really loved this book... I thought Lindon was such a clever character, the lore was so interesting and the magic system was amazing and complex.

In particular, when reading chapters 9, 10 & 11, I genuinely couldn't take my eyes off the page!! The ending was also really satisfying while leaving you wanting more. (Elder Whisper and Suriel are 2 characters I'm really looking forward to seeing more of.)

I'll hopefully get to reading the next book, Soulsmith, before the end of January and I can't wait to read it!!

Loved this book!! It was jam-packed with action sequences and great characters that grabbed your attention from page 1 and never let up.

I really enjoyed the premise of this novel and found it to be a really interesting plot that was executed very well. There were great battles in almost every chapter and the way the fight scenes were written was so captivating.

I found all the characters to be so interesting and learning about their backstories and the lore of their world and magic system was so compelling. I loved all the heroes' unique names that gave you an idea of their abilities and the way they interacted with one another was great.

The end of this book had a great twist that I didn't see coming (but it did have trope of a character giving a monologue/info dump at the end that kind of felt out of place). But overall I think it was a really satisfying ending to an amazing story.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I picked up the audiobook for free on my library app, just as something to pass the time, and I'm so glad I did.

I thought it was such a great concept for a story and it was executed very well. Schusterman captivated me from the start with the ideas of immortality and the psychological and morale effects it can have on people.

Citra and Rowen are compelling characters and the dynamic between to two is great. I really enjoyed the various mentors they encounter throughout the story too.

The are some great twists in the story and the ending didn't disappoint me. My only criticisms are purely personal preference, as I don't typically enjoy YA so I think I was just too apprehensive about it. But overall I really enjoyed it and started the next book in the series straight away.

Another great instalment in the Cradle series.

It had been about 2 months since I finished Unsouled so I was a bit lost at the beginning of the book but soon found my feet.

Wight really expands on the world building in this book. He introduces many interesting new characters and types of magic. All of which were so compelling and made me want to know more.

Once you get to grips with the magic in this, it's just such a blast and it's so easy to read. This is such a fun series and I will be picking up the next book soon.

Unfortunately I just don't think that Bradbury's writing is for me. This is the second book if his that I've read and I found both were tough to get through.

I'm glad I gave them a chance and I did enjoy the premise of the stories but I just found some of the dialogue to be a bit convoluted. There are a lot of similes used but he'll use 5 weird and completely different ones straight after one another, all about the same thing.

Again, not a bad book, just not for me.

This book was the perfect thing to get me out of the reading slump I was in. A short, funny, exciting and fast-paced story with a really interesting plot.

I honestly couldn't keep up with all the twists and turns in this book. Once I thought I had something figured out, some character throws a spanner in the works. Almost every chapter ends in a cliff hanger and so I never wanted to put the book down. This can sometimes get monotonous in other stories but I didn't fell that way for this one.

I see a lot of criticism for Butcher's female characters, especially in the early books, and although I did note it sometimes, I didn't feel it took away from the story too much. I've only got into reading in the last year, so I might be oblivious to some of it.

I really enjoyed the plot and found all the different types of werewolves really added an extra dimension to the story. I'm a sucker for a mystery and the Dresden Files are just right up my alley.

Can't wait to continue this series.
