Would it be too cheesy to say I was Devastated by this? Yes? Oh well. That is what I am going with. I was absolutely devastated by this story. I mean this as it was absolutely brilliant and left me speechless. It was dark and delicious and this series just seems to get better and better. This has to be my favorite so far. Ignore the fact that I have most likely said this with other books in this series. I loved this book and I could not put it down! It was everything I was looking for when delving into this story and more. I cannot wait to see what Pam will give us next. Oh and no I am not talking at all about the storyline. That needs to be experienced for yourself.

This book. I was not prepared for this book. I didn't think anyone could top Van's place in this series. I was wrong. Tate. Sweet holy titfire. This man-made me believe in love again. The things he endured for Lucia. I cannot even. I loved watching his character grow as he came to heal from his time being a victim. I enjoyed watching his connection with Van grow into something more than a painful past reminder. I lived for their interactions. My heart broke for both of them at one part in particular. I enjoyed Lucia and her resilience to overcome also. She lost a lot in this story and that saddened me. It is a testament to her character that she didn't break doing what she was forced to do.

The story paved the way into where it was going next and I look forward to those characters. Definitely a great series but I differ in my opinion from other reviewers. I do not think this could be read as a standalone. I think it is important to build on the foundation of this story and see how far the characters have come (especially Van) in order to atone for what they have done in the past or what they had to endure.

In a time of pain and humiliation.... her love carries him!

Tate and Luciaโ€™s story is filled with pain, torture, hatred, forgiveness, and so much love!

Iโ€™ve loved Tate from the minute he showed up in this series. His love for Camila and the way that manifested into helping her back to Matias, made him my favorite.

This book made me fall for him even more. What does for, and endures for Lucia is so compelling and heart wrenching. I couldnโ€™t put the book down and finished it in a short period of time. He feels everything so strongly and his heart is big and accepting. I want more!

I hadn't been very bothered about Tate until this book. And Van omg, how can he not be my favorite fucking character of this whole series?! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Not my favorite couple but still really fast paced and I did enjoy the story.

Nobody quite writes dark romance like miss Godwin

I did like their chemistry later on though and how he was protective of her

Me, a person who just had read the ๐˜›๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜“๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด series less than two weeks before this book, KNOWING thereโ€™s a character connection between these two seriesโ€ฆonly clicking that THAT Cole has finally been introduced to this series AFTER I finished this book via a Goodreads review. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Anyway, Iโ€™m excited to see more of him! ๐Ÿ˜‚

As for this story, it was a fairly action packed installment, with one of the mostโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฌ scenes yet.

While the love story in this one was perhaps not my favorite of the series so far (it was, dare I say, a bit โ€œinsta-loveyโ€) I was still happy Tate found his lady.

Plus, I (shockingly?) always love when we get more Van, so I loved that he was there.

After finishing, I was very *intrigued* by the sneaky peak I took of the MCs in the next oneโ€ฆand I couldnโ€™t wait to see how Pam went about their story! ๐Ÿ–ค

Incredibly talented and devastatingly diabolical...Pam Godwin is intimidating. Her mind, her world, and her characters are a dark and twisted place but it's amazing the amount of light that shines through.

Devastate is book 4 in the Deliver series and hopeful still just the beginning. These books are addictive and consuming. They are clever and so intriguing. It's not possible to be bored. You will never skim a passage, glance over a page, or skip ahead. No, you will be dragged through each sentence trying to capture the significance, haunted by thoughts of possibilities, and desperately patching together your own theories of what and where the story leads. From the catchy and very significant titles of the books and characters names to the unique landscape, everything has a purpose a reason and it's amazing- the feeling she gives to each and every thing.

Devastate is a relief. It's an insight into Tate but even more a bit of closure on his, Camila, and Mathias' back story. Answered questions of how it all came about...

My binge reading the series has been an incredible way to kick off Devastate but this book holds its own. So many things happened to get here and so many more happen in these pages. The build up is incredible. The doubt, the unease, and the guilt weighing on the reader for a hope of something more is just awe inducing. You will feel guilty for wanting more. You will feel shame, slight resentment, and disgust with yourself. It's incredible how well Ms. Godwin twists the knife of shame in the reader. How she gets your sympathy for her devils...

Devastate is a cleansing though. It's a second chance. But it's for all the wrong reasons- at first. It's a story of a growth. I know I'm gushing but damn it's a good book. If you want me to stop blabbering on, buy it. Read it. Experience it. But make sure you've read them in order...

and get this...
The next book (I cheated and read in the back of Devastate- where you just skimmed or even stopped reading before all those pages of stuff. You know, acknowledgements and stuff.) is called Take. Which if you noticed the naming pattern....
