This was very cute and fluffy. The story also provides some transgender facts on what it means to get sex reassignment surgery, or how to change your gender legally (in Japan), etc. It was both informational and cute. While it can be inferred that the author went through struggles and hardships along her journey it was definitely not centered on that. It was centered more on the love between her and her husband, which seemed to come easily from the flow of the story. This may be a good or bad thing, as it may seem like her journey was altogether a pretty easy one, but I think there is something to be said about stories like these. It may be important to focus on hardships, but sometimes its just nice to have a normal and fluffy story about a transgender woman finding love and happiness. Overall I did really enjoy this one!

A fluffy graphic novel about a transwoman planning to marry a man in Japan. It goes through her transition process through their marriage. The book is a blog turned Into a graphic novel. Very Informative and cute drawings.

Good for people who have no clue what transgender people are, but for me it was pretty boring for the most part. Sweet couple though!

The chibi-style just isn’t my thing, but it was interesting reading about another culture’s rules on gender and sexuality! Also since I’d recently read Redefining Realness, I recognized Thailand! I’d never known Thailand’s gender transition healthcare was so reputable. I guess it’s not quite a coincidence if that’s the case, but it did surprise me (surprise isn’t quite the word but it’s all I can come up with for now) to see it spoken of in two books written by two women from very different cultures, continents, and backgrounds.

This comic made me cry happy tears!!!!! It’s so cute!!! Although the art style might be even too cutesy for my taste, the story and the way the story is told made this a perfect read. Maybe I’m reflecting too much, as I’m currently dating someone going through the hardships of transitioning, but Chii’s story is so full of hope and love I couldn’t help loving this comic!
