3.5 Stars.
A really interesting one, especially as this book was first written before they had even caught Ridgway. The additions at the end were great, especially the one just after he was arrested but before he had been confirmed as the killer.
The Green River killings were just so brutal, and the fact that they went on during such a serial killer peak in America - Bundy had not long been put in jail and even gets involved with the investigation! This book and case are great reminders about how we look at sex workers and how much we think they are worth, and it is heartbreaking, also the politics involved in a case like this and how it can hinder everything.
A really good look at the Green River case, and there are some very useful maps here too.

Very well researched but had to give it four stars because why did we have to use the term ho so much??? I get that it’s an older book, but it’s been given updates and that should have been updated.

At the time of publishing this edition, the killer had not yet been found and I had to go and do a little googling to discover what happened next. Despite this, it was an engrossing read that demonstrated how easy it can be to slip through the cracks in society and become a victim to the predators that lurk. The determination of the detectives, the frustration of the investigation and the elusiveness of the killer was heart wrenching despite the factual way in which it was written.
