I really didn't like the main character in this one.
The relationships felt awkward to me as well. I seemed like things would change out of nowhere, or the characters took something out of an interaction that I totally didn't see.
Definitely just not my style.

Such a well done first book. I don't usually read lighter books but this was excellent. The FL is odd but not too much. As such she doesn't get annoying which is a hard balance to maintain, yet this author does. Love the adult characters, love the plot, love the world. Can't wait to continue this series. Glad it was recommended to me at the time I needed a break from the darker reads I usually go for.

As a Dorothy, I completely get where Dot's coming from with the Kansas jokes. The story isn't bad though I don't think it's written well. I'll read the next few books at least before deciding to continue the series or not.

I just finished gulping down this series and it was SO good! Perfect world building without getting too dramatic too fast. Plucky funny main character that wasn't annoying. Action progresses at a steady pace. Spice is spicy without being over the top or getting so crazy in the first book that the only way to top it is crazy monkey sex in book three. It has the heat, believe me, but it doesn't feel like too much. I truly enjoyed these books and look forward to reading anything else by the author!

Light hearted banter, witchcraft, hot men- maybe its just where I am at but its not a series I plan to continue. Maybe another time? The story was fine.
I really enjoyed how she was not threatened in getting close with others (men) and feeling ownership of the coven (I can't believe I am writing this) and solving a mystery but not much else drew me to read further.

This is a fun series - a quick read with lots of laughs and some steamy bits. The characters are great, and I enjoyed the unfolding of the murder mystery, though I am not sure I entirely understand why they came after Dot.
SpoilerWas it just because Chief was interested in her, and he was determined to take away what Chief wanted, because Chief wouldn't let him have what he wanted? It seems like that's the explanation, but it felt a little thin. Then again, he was nuts, so I suppose there doesn't have to be much of a reason once he's triggered.

I like the town, and I like Dot and Josie a hell of a lot. I'm excited to see how Dot will continue to bring happiness and hope to Cedar Falls.

A fun ride!

This book was downright hysterical - in all the right places. Sexy, witchy and the perfect introduction to a new world where witches live long, the Lady is real and a town is in trouble of the magical kind.

I do not know the final make up of the harem, as this charming first person, single POV paranormal RH strikes me as the kind that will add love interests as the series progresses.

Pros:
- Funny!
- Character development.
- World building is on point.
- Plot was intriguing, but far from complicated. This book seemed more of an introductory in purpose.

Cons:
- Some editing issues: the reason this is a 4 instead of a 5 star.
- Some back and forth dialogue needed a bit more definition as to who was speaking. NOT every line (please, never that) but after a few switches, maybe identify subtly.

I like this series so far. I really like Dot and Josie. I’m a little meh on the guys right now. They don’t have strong enough personalities yet. But time will tell-I’ll definitely be reading the next one.

Worth it

This book was really good. The characters are hilarious I love dot and josie's take on the world...head first questions later and dot's smarta** comments to everything was keeping me laughing throughout the book. Definitely read this if you like funny paranormal suspenseful romance

Sorry. DNF at 29%.

If I wanted a dialogue heavy story I'd read screen plays... The blurb had so much promise though...
