Painter....

Painter is a self described man whore. He knows no one woman will hold his attention for long times, a week max. He's never had a female friend until he meets Melanie. Melanie becomes Painter's pen pal while he's in prison. He tells Mel more than he has ever told anyone else. That's why he needs to friend zone her before he gets out of prison, he needs the distance before he breaks her.

As a reader I fell in love with Painter.

I wanted to kill Painter

Then I wanted to stab a sharp stick through Mel's eye. Come on he was being sweet, he was trying.

Izzy - motorcycle princess was adorable.

Ugh...

Painter is off the charts sexy the chemistry between him and Mel is explosive. I absolutely love this series. I start jonesing as soon as I finish one waiting for the next. Ms. Wylde is a genius, a hard core, MC writing genius. She really should be bowed too.

I didn't like Painter in previous books, but he redeemed himself in this one. I liked Melanie in previous books, but I didn't like her as much in this one. She was too unforgiving until--suddenly--she wasn't.

I only gave the book 3*s because Painter and Mel spent way too much time apart and arguing. And I can't say I really felt the love between them.

Fortunately, what I was worried about,
Spoilersleeping around a lot while they were separated
, happened "off camera." Seeing a lot of that would have been a deal breaker for me.

The book, especially the epilogue, is important for the setup of [b:Reaper's Fire|27188165|Reaper's Fire (Reapers MC, #6)|Joanna Wylde|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1452189646s/27188165.jpg|47224142]

Painter is everything. Loyal til the end, to his club and his family.

I love this series! I have to put that out there. Absolutely love it. However, I was not sure about Painter. I have not been his biggest fan. This series just continues to surprise me though and I was a huge fan of Painter's and Melanie's story. I loved all of the emotions, the angst, the love, the frustration. This was a great story and I can wait to read more.

Things I liked:
  • Seeing Painter and his daughter connect was really sweet. I loved how involved he was.
  • I could see how much Painter loved her, and I loved reading his perspective to see Melanie the way he saw her.
Things I didn’t like:
  • Just felt like so much drama at several points and not the good kind.
  • I definitely understood Melanie’s hurt about
Painter’s risk taking and getting arrested. That was so shitty.
But the way that situation went on for YEARS was insane.
