What a delightful, cozy summer read! I also listened to this one on audio on an 8-hour car ride home after a long wedding weekend when I wanted something cozy, comforting, and feel good. This fit the bill. This one reminded me a lot of Beth O'Leary's The Switch. Now I'm interested to check out more of Morgan's work.

This book gave me all the feels, it was emotional, heart warming funny and just completely divine!
It is told in the POV of three characters and each of the women have their own emotional problems that they are trying to overcome.

It takes a huge leap and a journey across the world along route 66 for them all to realise what is important to them and how to navigate their lives for the better.

The personalities of each of the main women compliment each other so well, from exuberant Kathleen, bubbly yet unconfident Martha and stressed Liza they all come together to help each other find their happiness and confidence, even when they don't realise it.

This is the second book I have read recently where the main protagonist is looking at her life and wondering what it has become and it makes me think about my own life and how we need to live every day to the fullest. You never know what lies around the corner and there is no place for regret.

Well done Sarah Morgan for tugging at my heart strings and leaving me feeling all warm and fuzzy after finishing this book. I want to be a summer seeker!

I told my brother that I’d read any book that he picked out for me at the bookstore so here we are.

The Summer Seekers by Sarah Morgan is a light contemporary book following three women — an 80-year-old seeking adventure once again in her life (Kathleen), her daughter who is going through a rough spot in her marriage (Liza), and a woman in her 20s who is trying to escape her stagnated life (Martha) — who get looped together when Kathleen decides to take a road trip across Route 66. Martha gets hired to drive her and what commences is a journey of self-discovery. This book was cute! It was very much a feel good read where not too much happened, but the writing was good. The author makes each woman’s voice very distinct which made reading this book easy. I think this would be a good beach read for those who are going to have lounging time this summer.

Sometimes the best books aren’t the ones you plan on reading. I love Sarah Morgan, but I had downloaded this more as a back up than something I was eagerly looking forward to reading. Of course this ends up being the book that I needed to read right now. Thanks to a plane ride and nothing else to start on, I read this absolutely delightful story that made me think about what makes me happy, in a week that I really needed to ask myself that question.

We all have big life moments to grapple with (weddings, birthdays, etc), but I’m more interested in the day to day. How do we live a life of contentment? How do we minimize “regret” or better yet, give the idea of “no regrets” less power? These are the questions I found myself asking throughout this story, and what I really loved was that I identified with each of the women in their struggle. On the surface, it seems like I would be most similar to Martha, and while that’s true, Liza and Kathleen’s journeys were just as relevant to me.

I guess what I’m trying to say is we are all more alike than we are different. We all need forgiveness and love, and we all need to feel valued. Our ways of communicating that may be different, and the end result will vary from person to person. But how we live a life of contentment is our choice, and I feel empowered to create that life for myself after reading this.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Liza is struggling with the stress of family life and feels like she is alone. Her 80 year old mother Kathleen a former “summer seeker” travelling around the world for her working life wants to travel Route 66. Martha sees Kathleen’s advert for a driver to take the trip with her and applies. Her and Kathleen travel Route 66 and stumble upon a hitchhiker who joins then for the journey. Meanwhile Liza takes a break looking after her moms cat and begins to discover there is more to life than family life. Can Liza fall in love with her husband again and get her life back on track.

Another brilliant book my Sarah.
