What doesn't happen in this book? There are so many twist's and turn's in this book I had to walk away so my mind could catch up. Julie Trueblood is the daughter of the most notorious traitor to the US, when the scandal broke she was interrogated for countless hours by the NAVY, in the end she was forced to take her mothers maiden name to escape the scandal. Though her father was branded a traitor Julie knows that he was set up, she even knows who set him up. Fast forward 10+ years later, Navy officer Hank Jared is all set to attend his sisters wedding when he receives orders to investigate a murder. The murder in question leads him right to Julies door, though she turns him away at first it soon becomes apparent that someone is after her and she has no choice but to accept his help.

Just when you think you know where this book is going everything changes, and then changes again. People who are thought to be you enemies are your friends are really your enemy. Yeah, try and figure that out. I was hooked from start to finish on this one, though a bit boggled I loved every moment of it. 5 stars!

This was definitely a short filler read. I got the first four books in a box set for free on my kindle. The romance was sudden and not backed up by any evidence. If this was a more fully rounded book it could have been a lot of fun with romance and a mystery. The addiction of codes and ciphers could have made the mystery all the better. But for me it is just another book to get off my to read list of books that I currently own.

GRs isn't wanting to save right now.

The none romance part of this story was 4 stars ~ easy. It was good and enjoyable.

The insta-love was annoying but too many authors do it, so it was just eye rolling.

The "romance" was horrible. Were they 3? It was on and off from the start, which was stupid. They couldn't talk to each other, they just made assumptions. It was childish and horrible. Would have been 1 star for that part, I really liked the other parts of the story though.

Julie Trueblood, math whizz and cryptographer extraordinaire, is the daughter of a traitor to the US Navy. She took her mothers maiden name and tried to ride out the storm. Though her father was branded a traitor Julie believes he was set up and she knows who by.

Navy officer Hank Jared only wants to get home to attend his sisters Xmas Eve wedding. But he's ordered to look into the discovery of a body, left as an anonymous tip on his bosses phone. The murder leads him to Julie's door, and she's not in the mind to help the Navy. But once her flat is ransacked she decides he may jest be able to help her. With nowhere else to turn he takes Julie and her aunt Gwen home, hoping to hide them in plain sight at his sisters wedding.

There are lots of twists and turns in the plot. Red herrings a'plenty. I did enjoy the story although the instant trust and then just as instant distrust between Hank and Julie did get a bit much.

I absolutely loved the plot idea! I'm in love with Hank and I fully supported his relationship with Julie!

However, everything felt really disconnected. Julie and Hank's emotions towards each other were like a flip switch and seemed to change on a whim. They moved so unrealistically fast then would go back to torturously slow. There were a couple things that were hinted at throughout the book too that weren't really ever explained.

The killer really wasn't much of a threat throughout the book, just kind of faded into the background until the end. I didn't really get any lurking sense of danger. I didn't really fully understand her father's character either as one second he was the bad guy, then the bad guy with good intentions, then the bad guy who was selfless?

The plot had a lot of potential but it was just too disconnected and rushed for me. This would've read better as a longer novel so the plot and the relationship had more time to develop. Hank is one of my favourite characters I've ever read and he was the saving grace for me, so to speak.

Meant for Her is a perfect blend of action and romance, without the extensive sex scenes that clutter up a lot of romance novels. The romance felt just right and left me with that feeling I was looking for, while the plot was intriguing and full of twists and with characters who weren't purely good or bad. The story is short, but feels just the right length. While I probably wouldn't pay for it (since I only buy about one book per month), it's definitely worth a download during its current free period.

This one really stretched the bonds of science and my "wtf" meter. It was a fluffy romantic suspense with elements of the paranormal. You had to really ignore plot holes and inconsistencies in order to enjoy the story. If that sounds like too much work then I suggest you skip this one. Otherwise, it really wasn't too bad. The romance was instalust and made absolutely no sense (Naval officer falls for suspected spy/traitor after one convo) but I really enjoyed the code breaking elements of the story even though I didn't understand most of it. The heroine's aunt was a great character but the villain was too OTT, making the h/H appear even dumber than they already proved themselves to be. Also, I know this is a fluffy read, but common! The heroine was shot in the back three times, piercing her lungs FFS, but she's in perfect health less than a week later instead of lying in a hospital bed somewhere.
