This book was a huge letdown! This book had nothing out of the ordinary, no peculiar, with a weak plot and an aggravating love triangle. I must say that this is the worst book out of all.

I'm exhausted. Frustrated with series continuations that merely suck the content from the original series away and destroy what was done. I'm sick of authors who are so lazy that they can't even come up with a new villain.

This novel was completely flat. The characters were lifeless and uninteresting. The strange environment, which was previously so exciting and unique, now feels dead, as if all the enchantment has been sapped from it. The images interspersed throughout the story feel cheap and unrelated to the story, as opposed to the original trilogy.

I'm also not a fan of the romance's trajectory in this. Why did this have to exist? This was something that no one desired.

Sometimes a story should just finish when it should, which in this case was Library of Souls. That was a beautiful conclusion. This second trilogy was completely unnecessary. And now I'm losing interest in the series. I'm disappointed.

Fair enough for the fifth book. I know there is supposed to be a second girl but  I didnt think Ransom Riggs would just disregard her or even just plainly make Emma exprience emotional damage from all of this, even though it was not her entirely fault that she fell inlove with Abe then with Jacob.. as if he didnt love Emma so much with the first 3 books. Riggs wrote Emma so well and she just like threw her off away from the pages and Jacob is unexpectedly not empathetic with her as if suddenly all the time they spent with three books following inlove jsut because he is falling inlove for another girl in for a few pages in short 3rd book of his. I could care less who Jacob ends up with but can we at least give Emma a proper treatment

I swear if Emma ends up loving Enoch and Enoch loving her.. idk what to do… such a terrible ending for such Emma

These books have the worst endings. And this is the saddest use of images ever. I feel like there was so much going on but it delivered so little. Like don’t get me wrong the writing is good but some of the earlier books it was much better. I couldn’t tell you which one is my favourite because they blend together. I’m currently reading the last one. Plot is a bit messy in this one. But then again I would be happy to read 100 books in this series. It should keep going on forever. I think this one was one of my least favourites. I wasn’t rooting for him and Emma. But it’s weird that Emma is such a side character now. Rip. I think hollow city, library of souls and map of days might be my favourites.

I'm disappointed. From the start I knew I was only reading out of loyalty to the series (I'm a completist - if I start a series and read the second book I'm compelled to read the rest regardless of enjoyment). When book four was announced I was excited to get back to the characters but I don't remember thinking much of it. In fact when starting this I realised I'd forgotten the plot of book four and had to Google it.

This also won't stick in my memory

The plot was barely a plot and the photos, which once bought excitement, now felt shoehorned - almost as if additional characters were placed as he'd already decided to use them but didn't have a reason to

The two stars is purely down to the return of Fiona. Her disappearance devastated me in the original trilogy and her lack of resolution bothered me with each subsequent book. She deserved more than her return in Conference. Hugh deserved more than to be suddenly reduced to a love sick puppy. As pleased as I am to have her back in the fold, the way it happened did not please me

Noor also seems to be a character of great potential. Her peculiarity is refreshing. Her becoming little more than the other woman in the Emma/Jacob triangle is lazy. The way Emma responds seems vastly out of character

I hope for more from book six of the "trilogy" then pray the series ends. Perhaps there is room for a prequel about Abe but continuing to follow Jacob would be unwise at best

Not one of my favorites of the series. I had a feeling that it was going to end the way it did. It will always remind me to lock my back door.
