A heartfelt and honest retelling of the author and her girlfriend's life through transition, major life stages, and coming outs, the story felt very personal while still having lighthearted moments. Reflecting on her own feelings about her girlfriend's acceptance and coming to terms with being trans, and her own feelings on what might happen to their relationship when she believed herself to be straight, the author talks about how shifting relationships and ideas in light of new information can be difficult but doable. While much of the story was balanced between sharing her girlfriend's process and her own, she didn't make her girlfriend's story about her in a selfish way, but instead in a way that showed how transition impacts the people around us, not just us, and how relationship changes can be scary when new curveballs are thrown, even when those are big and good and important... and how you can support someone while still being worried about what it means to support them (like if it'll change your relationship, if it'll be hard for them to face criticism, heartache, or even violence, and if the process will be a difficult one).

Us discussed queerness and a changing relationship with honesty and compassion, while still not shying away from the hard reality of what it means to be in a relationship with a trans person as they come out. It's a story that feels relatable. But don't worry - there's also happiness, excitement, growth, more coming outs, and advice for dealing with how to continue coming out, and what happens when you get weird questions and responses from people you once trusted and liked. Definitely a book worth reading if you are trans or you have a trans person in your life, but the art style, use of color, and descriptions in the story are incredible even if you don't.

I love reading queer experiences, knowing that you are not alone. The art style was so pretty, even though it didn't match the cover.

The story being both Saras and Dianas side of it made this special. This can be a great source of comfort to those transitioning and to those whos partner is transitioning.
