I enjoyed the first part of the book, and the detail given to all of the characters. But as the book progressed, there was such an overwhelming amount of side-quest thoughts from the narrator that it was hard to follow. I understand after reading interpretations online that there was a ton of metaphors, but it was just not my cup of tea.

Dark and strange, satirical and revealing, this book hooked me early and I held on for the crazy ride. Our world but maybe not, with characters that are derived from reality then taken to an extreme. Most of the writing I loved, but there were a few quirks that popped me out of the moment.

I'm honestly not sure how I felt about this book. I think I really enjoyed it, but it's the type of story that you really have to sit on for a little while to process. Definitely best to go in blind and not know anything about the plot!
