I had a bit of a hard time getting into the story but quite enjoyed it towards the end. Even the side characters were interesting, so I'd love to see more of them.

I wish i could give this book 6 or 7 stars, it's not an easy story to read, it hurts a lot sometimes, but it worth it. This one will stay with me I'm pretty sure

This was heavy going. I think some people will find the themes pretty tough to read, but there was plenty of warnings going in and it’s NR Walker so I always know that the quality will be there.

This one did tug on the heartstrings a fair amount, but I actually didn’t cry. Which is weird because I usually cry a lot at books and this author has most definitely made me cry in the past. I enjoyed getting to know these characters, though, and seeing Monroe taking the steps he needed to take in order to heal himself. I actually very much loved Erik. He was wonderful and supportive and an all round decent bloke.

There might have been lots of angst in this one but ultimately, it’s a NR Walker novel so I knew that there would be a HEA, even if it was hard won. The ending was very sweet (some of the speeches were just soooo sweet it actually hurt!) but I’m not complaining because I love a happy ending, especially when the main characters have really had to work for it.

Beautiful and heart breaking. N.R. Walker has a hell of a way of writing an exciting plot with believable characters and well written smut and this one no exception.

Emotional, heartwarming, and beautiful.

This is my first N.R. Walker novel and I definitely cannot wait to read more. She blends angst and romance and steam so well!

Best line ever:
You do know there is no such thing as a magic dick, right?” Saul asked, and Erik almost choked on his first bite of pizza.

I love Walker's book. The anticipation is high every time, and again, she delivered.
Her angsty books gets me every time, but I must say, that I don't think I've been sobbing at 25% before. I love a good book that will make me feel so much that I can't contain it.
A favorite of 2019 so far.

Tissues required

This book was amazing. N.R Walker takes a book about two men, one an alcoholic and the other his best friend and creates a heart breaking story about recovering from grief and addiction.
Monroe’s parents died 3 years ago and since then, he had been hiding his grief in alcohol, not wanting to look beyond the now.
Erik tries to help his best friend anyway he can, believing he’s doing the best. One night, everything crashes and Erik realizes that he can’t be Monroe’s crutch anymore.
The love story is one of helping the other partner the best they can by being separated. It was a lovely and as I said before heartbreaking, especially when Monroe realizes everything he had done to the people who love him.
It was a book of growth and hope. You feel both Erik’s pain at being without his love and Monroe’s being at Rock Bottom and joy when they manage to turn themselves around.

This book is a slow burn , best friends to lovers, 2nd chances, hurt/comfort. Oh Just read it.
