Well I’ve been meaning to read this for months but I always seemed to talk myself out of starting it. Then finally I just dove in. Well I’m really glad I did. It grabbed me right off. It slowed down a bit at about a quarter in but then picked right back up to the point I almost couldn’t put it down. Super funny with some great steam (but not too much). It felt real and heartfelt, I even cried a couple of times. Recommend!

This was such a fun read! Lil thought she's found her guy and after 8 years together it comes as a bit of a shock when he suddenly up and leaves. Getting back on the dating horse with the encouragement of friends Lil connects to Max, professional adventurer and mountain climber. One date leads to one night and when he never texts her back Lil is dissapointed but figures its just part of what you can expect on the dating scene these days - until the + pregnancy test...
Lil is genuine and funny and someone you could see as a friend. Max comes across as a decent guy with a few issues - once you meet his family those become a little clearer. Lil's friends Jess and Clem, co-workers, and family all come across as real people, adding humour and dimension to the story.
I loved the fact that although Max comes from wealth this isn't a "rich guy meets poor girl and fixes all her problems" sort of story.
If you want a fun, sweet, occasionally hilarious, relaxing read this rom-com is for you!
Happy For Now ending.

Very cute book and it was so heartwarming but it wasn’t my favourite, just because there was nothing crazy in it. It was basically just a love story.

This was a lovely, summer read. Would I read it again? Probably not.
The main protagonist, Lils, was relatable from the start and some of the things said in the book were laugh out loud funny. There were parts where the book was predictable (some good on-edge moments that kept you interested) and the storyline was good, but it did feel very ‘Ross and Rachel’ to me - very much a rinse and repeat kind of feeling - as well as being able to establish who the Monica was and who the Joey was in the book. It wasn’t ‘boring’ at all, but there was a sense of de ja vu. I didn’t get this feeling until the end of the book, so that isn’t such a bad thing!

This book had so much promise but it really missed the mark.
It lacked chemistry between the hero and heroine. Throughout the entire thing the heroine was pregnant and the hero was gone for at least 1/3 of the pregnancy. There was a lack of development on the characters completely. All we know throughout the story is that the heroine finds the hero attractive. There is never a turn of emotions or anything that would give us the idea that the two would end up together.

What Happens Now? started out pretty good. I liked the main character, Lil, and the British wit (think modern Bridget Jones). I empathized, and related too well, to Lil's situation of online dating after a break up with a long-term partner. I was still happily listening when Lil goes on her first date with Max, that turns into sex at his place. When she wakes up, Max isn't there and continues to ghost her. Then boom, there is a wench in the plan when Max appears on TV and we learn more about him.
At this point I just lost interested in the story. And, so I think, do I pursue this book, or just cut my losses? I turned to the reviewing community. After reading several reviews, , I decided to move on. I still have Money-Coutts' novel [b:The Plus One|38733836|The Plus One|Sophia Money-Coutts|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530519376l/38733836._SY75_.jpg|60319176] to read...so I am going to try one more time.

I’m sad and annoyed. I thought this was going to center around the romance of Max and Lil but it more-so was about Lil’s life. There was literally 20% romance, I’d say. The ending disappointed me too, like that was it?
It was a fun read and was hoping that it’d be my favorite but it didn’t reach that level.

I really wanted to like this. The premise was great but the story was ...forgettable. The main couple had no chemistry and it felt at the end that they got together because of the baby, not because they really liked each other.
I didn't hate it, that's why its not 1 star but it was very meh.
