Like a cute Christmas Groundhogs Day.
Glad it was included as an audiobook with Scribd.
I was worried for a bit that what she worked for would be taken away but thank you Christina and Lauren for that HEA.

The steam is non descriptive (not fade to black) but the love and tension is there and makes it a sweet read.

This book make me LOL a few times. The setting was so cozy and the perfect amount of Christmas/Wintery vibe. I would have given this book 5 stars if it weren’t for the time loop.

Cutest Christmas short read! Absolutely loved it - didn’t think I’d be as into the friends to lovers trope but I adored it. Madness and Maisie are the cutest and I think like the whole Groundhog Day storyline, was interesting! I’m so happy they ended up together and engaged! So sweet 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christina Lauren books can go a couple of different ways for me - either I love both the comedy and the romance (Autoboyography, The Unhoneymooners), I love the comedy but detest the romance (Josh & Hazel), or I just flat out hate all of it (Roomies). Basically, their books are a toss up, but when I found In a Holidaze as a 99 cent Kindle deal, I figured it could be a potentially cute read during the festive season.

And you know what? It was. I really, really enjoyed the backdrop of this story, and even though it suffered from too many characters syndrome, I think they did a fine job of at least fleshing out the main characters enough for me to get really invested in the romance. While the actual romance plot took a while to get going because of the groundhog day aspect the authors threw in, the cozy vibe was more than enough to sustain me as they set up the couple. The comedy, too, took a while to build, but we did get there and I laughed out loud on more than one occasion.

Would I have enjoyed this had I read it at any other time of year? Probably not. Because it is set from December 20th to 26th, In a Holidaze really is a book for the festive season, and I'm happy I tore through it in one day over Christmas. I highly suggest you do the same if you want to read it!

This isn’t the first book by this author I’ve read, but if I hadn’t liked some of her others, it would definitely be my last. Woo boy. This one was just not likable. I could not force myself to like the heroine at all. She had no redeeming qualities. Like none. And the hero, had he been given proper time to be fleshed out and we could see more of his character, he probably woulda been just fine. As it was, he was just meh for me.

And can we talk about the “magical” element? I felt like she needed to be ripped out of the last timeline she was in and taken back one more time to do everything from the beginning but without acting like a fool. I just, didn’t like how she was so ineffective and I felt that her learning her lesson was just not that climatic. I don’t know, call me crazy but if you’re going to have some fantasticical element, do it properly.

So for the first 150 pages or so of this 300 page book I was bored and miserable and then I liked it for about 20 pages like REALLY liked it and was like wow! Maybe this is redeeming itself, but no. This book was just boring and honestly didn’t even feel that christmas-y? I don’t know, it was just okay, I just don’t think I’m a huge Christina Lauren fan :/
