This is a great book and book series. However, I despise how every single goddess (even maiden goddesses like Artemis, Athena, and Hestia) and “in like” with someone. A big part of their characters in the mythology is that they are forever single, and I despise how these books are making it seem like girls have to fall in “like” with someone. Athena falls in love with someone who isn’t even connected to her story! I think it’s ridiculous and sends a message to girls that they have to like a guy and guys have to like them, especially when they have previous knowledge of Greek mythology like I did when I first read this series at 7.

This one was cute! I didn’t remember this one as much while rereading it and I enjoyed it. I liked how this one focuses more on a sibling relationship instead of a romantic one. I enjoyed seeing Apollo’s character a bit more and I loved spending time with Artemis again. This was another adorable, simple, Greek mythology-filled gem from this series and I can’t wait to continue reading them.

I was hoping for a girly Percy Jackson but the writing is far weaker. Also I need to point out that yes, Athena is Zeus' daughter, so is Artemis and Apollo. And that Hades is Zeus' brother (older brother) so having him running around in a middle school drama with Zeus as the overlord older principal, kinda of off. Which is what I hate, why write a book series and dismiss and get so much of mythology wrong? It took two authors to teach us a lesson about 'fairness' and one of them couldn't even fact check mythology. Poopy.

Both enjoyed it and was kinda bummed with it.

*SPOILERS* Really enjoyed reading about dog-lover and great archer: Artemis again. Enjoyed delving more into the relationship with her twin brother Apollo. LOVED that Artemis was fighting for the right of the girls at MOA to either join the Olympics or be able to start their OWN girls-only Olympics. HATED that we didn't get to SEE these girl-Olympics and only get a "yeah, Zeus says it can happen" bit at the VERY tail end of the book...and only THAT Because her brother got all the godboys in his dorm to sign her petition to start the games. (Because obviously having half the population sign it doesn't matter if that half is all the females. Rings FAR too much like the politics of the day right now...) Disappointing when I was hoping to see more of her awesome athleticism and perhaps explore the abilities of other goddess girls.
