I liked this one. And I'll be continuing this series. However, Flynn did bother me a little bit in the way she didn't stand by Jesse when she should have. (At the town meeting I wanted to throw the book across the room! OMG!!) And I thought that Jesse gave Flynn too many chances, but then, he loved her. And well, I guess he had to forgive her, eventually. So there's that. :D

Beau was a jerk and I wish we had more info on what happened to him, given what is discovered about him in the book. And the epilogue was cute (I just love good epilogues!!). I just wish I saw more of Jesse and Flynn in it, because once she got her head out of her butt, I wanted to see more of the two of them, together. It just seemed to wrap up rather quickly. (but then, I'm greedy when it comes to wanting more from fictional characters, LOLOL)

I'll be grabbing the second in this series soon enough. Can't wait to see what else happens in Twilight, Texas.

Such a sweet story about love and people’s sweethearts both those people knew of and others they didn’t. It was so nice hearing about their knitting group, how it started and also about the knitting shack and then love thrown into the mix too. A true love story that also shows everyone’s ups and downs along the way it was so nice to not read. It also reminded me of my own small knitting group too.

This was cute, but I can't say it was a fantastic romance. I've certainly read better from Wilde before. And I really thought there would be more knitting involved in it.

Flynn has always taken a backseat to everyone else in her life. Her father, with his drinking problems, her siblings, who she's raised ever since her mother was diagnosed with an incurable disease, and even her knitting club, where she only pretends to know how to knit and instead spends the time playing hostess to the ladies who come over. The only person she hasn't put first is her boyfriend Beau, the town Sheriff, who has asked her so many times to marry him that it isn't a new thing anymore. And she isn't certain why she doesn't want to marry him. It can't be that she still has a crush on a boy from highschool. A boy who went to prison and has recently returned to town. After all, loving him would not be the responsible thing to do.

Flynn was too flighty for me. She's supposed to be a level-headed, grounded person, and yet she flys off the handle on nearly everything that's presented to her. She's a hard worker, but doesn't take time for herself and the martyr act is tiring after awhile and makes it hard to like her. By contrast, Jesse is actually one of the better characters. At least you understand his motives and he's not as far out there as Beau and his weird need to rescue damsels in distress. Jesse may have gone to prison and had a wild youth, but at least he's more level-headed than everyone else in the book. I really can't say there were a lot of genuinely nice characters here, they all have motives and imperfections and are a bit selfish. Yes, that's realistic, but it's a romance novel, I need warm fuzzies too!

If it weren't for the weaker characters the plot was actually interesting. You have a guy just out of prison who's the main love interest. Which is unusual. A sheriff who's the bad guy. Ok, not so unusual, but still a good antagonist as there is a lot of power there. And then you have your typical strong female romance protagonist who doesn't need any man. Yet wants one because he curls her toes. Add in a lot of people who make bad personal decisions and the book has a lot going on at least. Although for as thick as it was, it was fast paced and the ending felt a bit rushed. I also didn't learn anything new about knitting than I did before and having rushed into this thinking it was sort of a crafty, cozy novel, I was a bit disappointed. Yes, the main character is in a knitting club and has aspirations to open a knitting shop, but that was mostly how the knitting was described. No in-depth descriptions of projects, no how-to's on knitting something. In fact, I think the sex scenes had more detail than the knitting scenes.

I would probably read the next in the series (just because it has quilting in the name) but I'll be forewarned that it probably won't have much to do about the craft. I just hope the characters are a little more likable.

I've been reading this series out of order, but it doesn't matter. I like the crazy people of Twilight, Texas. Though this book is not my favorite of the series, it is still a great story and now I understand some things that I've read in the other books.

Jesse Calloway, has spent the past ten years in prison, for a crime he didn't commit. When he saved a kid and prevented a prison riot, he was granted release two years early. Jesse already has a plan...go back and and get justice, and the find the one woman who has always held his heart...Flynn MacGregor. Flynn, has always had a secret love for Jesse, but has never had hope to make a future with him. She has just accepted the proposal of the chief of police, one who she has dated since high school. Everyone seems to think they are perfect for each other. Flynn is determined to set up a 'yarn barn' in memory of her mother, she is part of the Sweethearts Knitting Club, even though she feels like a liar and not worthy of that title and belonging to that club. For one she can't knit worth a darn, but has tried most of her life and still can't even do one proper stitch. When she bumps into Jesse after ten years, she is overwhelmed with feelings of desire and love she has always held for him. But she is engaged, and her commitment is to him. But when Jesse starts to romance her again, and show her the woman she truly is, how to get wild and crazy and have fun with life....she begins to realize she will have to decide between being proper and marrying a man with prestige and a good name in the community or choose a man who knows her inside and out and sees the true Flynn...who will she decide to be the man she does marry?

Ever since last year when I was introduce to Lori Wilde a couple years ago, I was hooked on her stories. She is one of those authors, that got me addicted to Contemporary romances again. For quite some time I just couldn't sink my teeth into this genre for a while, I was really into historical and paranormal (and I still am just added another sub genre I am beginning to love again). So when I was introduced into the series when I read Christmas At Twilight, so I was very intrigued with the setting of Twilight Texas, and wanted more. So I picked this one up at the library, and definitely couldn't get enough.

This story is a bit of a triangle romance but not really. Its more about a young woman who loves two men, but one is unavailable at the time, and the other proposes and she feels he is safe. But right after she accepts that proposal where she hesitated agreeing too...her high school sweetheart comes strolling back into her life, and is fighting for a chance with her. The man she is engaged to is really the villain of the story, and that is evident from the start. His character always seemed to perfect but Jesse...now that is one sexy hero. He has a bad reputation, grew up around drugs and made mistakes. Then he comes to Twilight as a teen and meets Flynn who changes his life. He was such a great character to get to know. Even though he has this bad boy image, he is anything but a sweet and kind man that only wants justice and to get his girl. (oh sigh) he was lovely, and sexy in every way. The kind that is swoon worthy. Flynn could have had more backbone, her character was a bit flawed in some ways I liked but in others I couldn't stand. I felt like she could have fought more for Jesse, especially when she knows he needs it. And Jesse won't take it, he will fight for her, but demands the same. It is the wake up call Flynn needs to realize what is really important. Then we see her get her backbone...and then she becomes a great heroine instead of average.

This story was pretty intense...as in the way the story line turns out. Its the type of story that is pure intense in the love story, and really puts you at the edge of your seat needing to know what happens next. It was quite a adventure seeing these two characters really find their happy ending, and after finishing it...I knew I couldn't wait to get the second book of the series. There was such satisfaction in reading a romance that puts you on edge, stimulates the senses, intrigues you with each sensual scene and gives you a romance worth reading...GUARANTEED!! A HEART STOPPER!!

Ha ha, this book was NOT about knitting. (Which I was looking for.) Wish I liked the characters, but alas, I did not.

Probably more deserving of three stars than 4 but it was what I needed when I needed it and it was just easy and comforting. Could have used better line editing, spelling character's names incorrectly is a little distracting (ie Honda instead of Hondo which was upsetting and hilarious in equal measure...as is correcting typos/grammar while you're trying to read) but otherwise overall enjoyable.
