I feel bad when I read a book when I am not feeling well because I cant tell if I am not loving it or just brain dead. It was a very cute heart warming story. It's a Hallmark mixed with a Christmas Carole, but it just fell a little flat for me.

Isabella was bragged as a stubborn but for Elias she is almost a complete pushover except when it comes to the family the farm. Elias is a textbook scrooge. Abandon by his parents and taken in by his aunt and uncle and finally experiencing love. These two go through some wild twists and turns I did not see coming. The book flash backs between where they are now and some brief moments from their time growing up together. While there are some entertaining parts, a lot of times I just kind of got bored.

I am interested to see the rest of the series How The Grump Saved Christmas takes place in the middle of goes. This book takes place in the middle of the Bailey Brother's series. As a northwest born and raised girl, I love the Washington connection, and I think that held me on a lot longer then I might have normally. Very cute if you are looking for a holiday read, but can get a little boring.

A surprisingly sweet holiday read! If you’re in the mood for a Hallmark grumpy x sunshine story, you can’t go wrong with this one

I have mixed feelings about this book. It's a combination of A Christmas Carol + a very traditional Hallmark setting + some sexytimes. Kingsley does a great job with the re-telling of A Christmas Carol - I love how she brought in Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim, Scrooge's family, the Ghost of Christmas Future, etc. But the Hallmark-esque setting and characters are honestly pretty stale. The Big City Guy comes in to purchase the Small Town Christmas Farm.... really? How many times has that been done? Also, I was hoping it would be funnier. And I thought Isabelle and Elias getting together happened too early - there wasn't enough buildup/sexual tension. But at its heart it was a sweet, warm holiday tale and I enjoyed listening to it.*

*(Although Stephen Dexter can be a little too overly dramatic.)

This was an adorable, quick Christmas read. I felt like it had a Christmas Carol vibe but instead of ghosts it was squirrels. Another great ending!

It's a classic KU read. The bonus cuteness and characters were too sassy and sweet. I loved the dual POC and how much he went full send once he stopped being a jerk.

Grumpy, closed-off, Grinch-like, big-city businessman takes small town! Our love interest is on a quest to buy a dying Christmas farm for the company he works for. Throughout his time there you see his heart soften and Christmas cheer sneaking its way into his heart!

Grumpy sunshine isn't my favorite trope because it's hard to nail. I'd say this author didn't totally hit the mark for me. The two main characters' past conflict reveal was supposed to be a huge plot twist and it fell flat for me. Yes, it was a bump in the road for them, but I didn't see it as a huge deal. I found the lack of communication surrounding the conflict irritating and unrealistic. The conflict didn't satisfy me, but the romance was good!

I do enjoy seeing a grump soften up. Seeing the romance evolve kept me wanting to read this book.
Plus the setting was so Christmas!! I'd recommend this book for a fun holiday read and for someone who enjoys grumpy sunshine!
