I love Jay Crownover, and I love her books. I have read everything she has written, and this book has done me in. Like done, done. There will be no epic love stories that could compare to this book. From the first page Jay has you riveted, and swooning. Hudson Wheeler is pure love, good lord almighty, I seriously cannot get over him. He is the epic kind of man, kind, loving, shaped by his horrid childhood. He shows Poppy what it is to be loved. I loved the progression of their story, and it was not a wham bam, they are over their issues. Poppy is the perfect match for Wheeler. On paper, you wouldn't think so; how can two obviously so emotionally bankrupt people love each other? Well you have to read the book to find out, cause I ain't tellin. Magnificent writing, and the perfect end to these two series.

Salvaged was like a hurricane of emotions! I laughed, I cried, my heart fluttered and it broke...

Salvaged was such a beautiful story, because no characters I've gotten to know in past deserved happiness more than Poppy and Wheeler. They had both been through hell, with no one to help them, and feeling both left behind and unloved. Seeing them open up and receive acceptance and love made me so happy. Even it there was still heartache in store for both of them during their story.

There was both suspense and mystery present, as well as some people who were far from happy with the budding relationship between Poppy and Wheeler. I just wanted to cheer both of them on and tell them they should grab love and happiness with both hands to never let it go.

The epilogue of Salvaged was amazing, too, because all the characters from both the Marked Men series and the Saints of Denver series were present, and I got an intimate peek at what was going on with them after the ending of their own story.

*Received ARC in exchange for honest review

This couple is probably the most endearing couple, and the most deserving of a HEA. Both Wheeler (the male lead) and Poppy (the female lead) have had a painful past that they need to overcome before fully accepting their happy ending. This book is all about what love is. What a person does or doesn't do if they really love someone. It's also about being able to move on from a hurtful past and allowing others in. The story is well and beautifully written. It was hard to put down. There were a few humorous moments (though this is not a comedy.) There are a few more teary eyed moments. One or two twists/surprises. Lots of heartwarming moments. Salvaged is part of the Saints of Denver series (which is part of the Marked Men series) but you can get through this book without any problems if you haven't read the others. But you will better understand and appreciate their story if you at least read 'Rowdy' and 'Riveted' beforehand. (Poppy's backstory is played out in 'Rowdy' and Wheeler's in 'Riveted'.) There are some seriously dark situations that may be a trigger for some readers. Abuse and rape (memories of) being the biggest. Because of the topic in this story, I would recommend this for mature readers.

2.5 but rounding up.

This book was fine. I didn’t care for nor dislike either character. They really over emphasized their personal issues though and at some point I was all ‘ ok I get it!’

Uhmmm wow.

This book was just so pure and just so phenomenal. I loved everything about it from the beginning until this couple's HEA. I honestly loved Poppy. She was someone who went through things that would kill anyone else but instead she was slowly suffering but still alive and in fact fighting for her own slice of happiness. And then there's the wonderfully wonderful Wheeler who had my heart. He was just what Poppy needed and then some. His love was something I felt through the pages and it was amazing.

This book reminded me why I love Jay Crownover. I felt that Jay Crownover put alllll of herself into this book and by that I mean, It was full of emotion and I loved seeing how all of our characters were. That epilogue killed me, in a good way. My babies, who I've been with for the past 4 or 5 years and I cannot imagine not reading about them.

I loved how Poppy and Hudson found love in each other. How he tried to help her overcome her fear and learn to both love life and herself again.

I loved these two. I haven't read this series in order so I haven't been exposed to the characters as much as I should have been. I knew parts of Poppy's story because of Built but I didn't realize how bad it was for her. Now Wheeler was perfection. He struggled and fought and kept getting slapped back down but he kept moving forward. I love how he knows that Poppy is worth waiting on and he doesn't push until she asks. There is drama but it doesn't overwhelm the story and not everyone gets a happily ever after.

You know you’re in for a ride when the author issues a warning in the forward. I still haven’t read Rowdy’s book yet but Poppy has been in enough of the other books that I was familiar with her story. Wheeler’s story of his childhood I either didn’t remember or didn’t read but I did know about his recent past. While Wheeler’s story wasn’t as drastic as Poppy’s it’s still heartbreaking.

What Poppy survived would kill most people. The fact that she’s even marginally functional is amazing. She still struggles, but she’s been on a healing path for a while. She is strong, independent and feisty when she comes from behind the walls she’s hiding. I loved watching her blossom with Wheeler’s help.

Wheeler is just as strong, possessive and bada$$ as all of the men in both series but he shows some vulnerability in this book that actually makes him more perfect. His childhood was crap. The recent situation with his ex and her family is crap. He should be emotionally devoid but is surprisingly sweet and passionate with Poppy.

These two make each other stronger. They help each other live better. They are amazing people that deserve amazing things which are starting to happen for them.

I like that even though we had a few pop-ins from the folks in both series, this book concentrated primarily on Wheeler and Poppy. I also liked that Ms. Crownover touched on the entire cast of characters in a bonus epilogue.

I’m sad these series are done but I’m interested to see what’s next!
