Another fun, enjoyable mystery from the team of Mary Higgins Clark and Alifair Burke. It's a great cozy mystery for listening to while doing summer chores. I loved that we finally have development in the relationship between Alex and Laurie!

Maybe it is time to give up on Mary Higgins Clark? This book wasn't bad exactly (and lately I've enjoyed the Under Suspicion novels better than her stand-alones) but it wasn't really good either. Frankly you can tell it is written by 2 people because characters change with little or no warning. At the end of the last book (and the beginning of this one) Alex was a jackass and all of a sudden he realizes that he was a jackass who made a huge mistake and changes his mind. But do he and Laurie have a conversation about what let to his being a jackass at the end of the last book, of course they don't they just pick up where they left off. The reader has access to both character's inner monologue so we know that they are in the same place, but they don't know that.

Also, my main problem with these books is that Laurie has been nearly murdered in at least half of them. I would think that she would either stop producing these specials or hire a bodyguard because this is just ridiculous.

“Every breath you take” is the 5th book in the series about a fictional crime tv show “Under Suspicion”. Laurie, the producer of the show, together with her team, re-investigates cold (murder) cases by following new leads and interviewing old suspects.
The case in this book is the one of a socialite named Virginia who was pushed from a roof during Met Gala. Her younger boyfriend reached out to the team of “Under Suspicion” to clear his name.

I always enjoy reading books from this series. They are easy to read and the cases are always unique and interesting. It is always fun to guess the one who is guilty.

Solid book. Logical killer, reasonable motive without being obvious.

Except the whole going on a date and getting engaged within an hour of a police shoot out. But that's a minor detail.

On a larger note, I really dont care for Laurie's relationship with Alex. They have no chemistry and doesnt seem like they love each other. The only reason I know they're together is because they think "I miss him" and he said he loved her one time in five books.

I'd just drop the romance angle altogether.

Didn't like this one as much as the others but still had a good time reading it. The ending got me with all sorts of feels and it was grabbing me in, but the middle part kind of dragged on. Would still recommend to people reading the series because some BIG things go down.

Again another hit in the “Under Suspicion” series. The plot twist is great, didn’t see it coming. I absolutely loved the ending. Would definitely reread this! I really hope this isn’t the end of the series tho. Only possible downside, the book has a lot of repeating (upside when you’re like me and forget everything too quickly).
