Ahhh! I LOVED this book. I can’t even...ha ha, okay, I guess I can because I need you to know how good it is. I couldn’t stop reading it. My family is lucky they got fed. How often do you finish a book and feel completely satisfied? Not wish for one tiny detail of the story to be different? For me it’s actually not that often. I enjoy many books, and even love lots of books, but I don’t often feel this happy at the end of a book. I am a big fan of a marriage of convenience story and I have read many. This is now one of my favourites of all that I have read. During the build up to the marriage I actually thought, “Hey, this makes more sense and seems more reasonable than the reasons for marrying in a lot of these stories.” The whole story just flowed organically and wasn’t forced or tortured. It was impossible not to fall in love with the hero and heroine. Their character growth was compelling. The relationship development was beautiful. Romantic tension and build-up in a clean romance novel is a real art. It’s definitely on display here. And for once I felt like the characters behaved a lot like how I think I would behave in that situation. They had reasonable reserve and anxieties, but they didn’t keep things from each other forever just to prolong the story. The hero’s war experiences and PTSD were an important layer to the story and were addressed well. This author likes her research and she added many details throughout that enriched the story and settings. And I love a good epilogue! This one was so satisfying. You can also look forward to visits from characters from other books by this author...and not just the expected ones from “His Unexpected Heiress”. This book is a sequel to that book in some ways and I think that reading both enriches the experience of this book, but this book is still wonderful as a stand-alone. (Although I bet you’ll want to go back and read the first book after you read this one. Just saying....) So to sum up, READ THIS BOOK!!! I unreservedly recommend it!

This was such a sweet story. I fell in love with Myles and Philippa right away. Myles has my heart. His whole character is about helping people. He came home from the war badly scarred physically and emotionally. His thoughts and emotions were beautifully written. Philippa instantly sees his good character and seeks a marriage of convenience to gain more freedom. Although she isn't a haughty society member there is still things for her to learn. Her compassion shows and they slowly turn their marriage into one of love. The conflicts they faced from the society and Philippa's oldest brother were also well written. Overall this was a captivating story.

Sally Britton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I absolutely LOVED this book! I have to say this has one of the most beautiful endings I’ve ever read. REAL characters are such a refreshing change to picture perfect characters. I would have loved to sit down and read this book in 1 sitting, but life got in the way and I’ve never completed necessary tasks as quickly as I did this week to be able to finish!

If you love historical romance this is a must read for you. Clean content, swoon worthy moments and the most beautiful love story that will leave you breathless!

Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Her Unsuitable Match is a spin off of a book I read months and months ago but brought me back to a couple of other favorites by her as well. I love when authors interconnect their world for us between books or series and I get to see a familiar name - or two - cross the pages.
Pippa is due her inheritance but her eldest brother refuses to hand it over. In order to avoid his manipulative tactics, Pippa enters into a marriage of convenience on her own terms. This trope is a favorite. I love the themes of forced proximity and curiosity that inevitably come with it.
Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Another sweet Sally Britton story. And some of our old favorites like Lord and Lady Inglewood and Sir and Lady Fox show up.

A tender story. I like how the hero asks for the possibility of a deeper relationship as they start their marriage of convenience. That’s always something I don’t understand why more fictional couples don’t.

I adored this story! It was wonderful to watch Pippa and Miles find love, navigating the difficulties of past and future to do so. Highly recommend!
