I liked but didn't love this mostly because I just couldn't seem to care for the MMC. His fucked up relationship with his BFF didn't help especially their sexual competitions. I felt like I reading about a bunch of frat boys. And don't get me started on his protective brother act and the put upon son. Of course Willow is special and he gets angry just thinking about 'sharing' her with Noah. That's how we are supposed to know she's different and 'special'. Except I didn't get the memo.
Willow is intriguing but enthralling and captivating? The writing didn't convince me of that. Add in the mystery with her dad felt like a kind of let down after all the angst (not to mention the insurance item near the end :- - sure ok - things get handled that easily)

This couple seemed to mostly connect through sex and honestly with his history of bang and leave not to mention double-teaming, I just can't see them lasting. She'll hit 35, start aging and he'll be looking elsewhere for a distraction. That is the problem with these manwhore books. I can't believe anyone can change that much when they are already in their thirties and still acting this way. And by the way - I much preferred Reid. I didn't find him creepy. I found him heartbroken, and confused as a man who couldn't believe his ex preferred this vapid, selfish, egoistical tool. Me either Reid. Me either. I can daydream he found a woman with better taste in men and who wasn't so wishy-washy.

So many secrets revealed...

This book picks up right where book one left off, continuing in Willow and Shaw's POV. I had forgotten some of the events but thought the author did a great job integrating what happened enough to remind you without retelling the story. I loved that this book had more of a suspense edge to it. The chemistry and emotions between Willow and Shaw are amazing. You feel like you are experiencing everything right there with them. A great conclusion to this story.

You must read Lost in Between in order to read (fall in love with) Found Underneath.

Well, I wasn't expecting to be a puddle of tears as I read this one, but goodness did it make me emotional! K.L. Kreig warns readers that it's going to be one heck of a ride, but I wasn't prepared for the amount of emotions I'd feel as I read Found Underneath. The final book in the Finding Me duet made me cry, laugh, steam with anger, and fall head over heels in love with Shaw Mercer a little bit more than I already was. It's romance with a splash of suspense and this novel provides every answer readers begged for after finishing Lost in Between.

"He's waiting for me to fuck up. He's working to win her back."

"It's there, simmering. A noxious combination that's ready to boil over and scald everyone around him. It's coming. Fast. Without warning. And when it does, no one will be sheltered from the damage it will cause. No one."

Shaw is, well...Shaw. He's a man with strength and determination, Found Underneath really showcased the qualities that made me swoon in the first place. He's definitely an Alpha, but has a good heart that really drives this book. Willow is a complex character with a suitcase of hard life stories weighing her down. Together they lift one another up, they both become far better people, but they've got secrets and a contract that nearly promise an implosion. Outside of these two, K.L. Kreig writes some phenomenal secondary characters. This isn't just a one story line book, it's multifaceted, made better with family drama, politics, and a haunting past that no one is prepared to face. I get bored so easily with a book I can guess the ending of and this one is impossible to do that with. There's no telling where the next secret and conflict may come from, but there is a definite promise of perfect resolution as Shaw fights to win the heart of the girl.

"For those stolen moments, I let him in all the way. I let him see that I don't want anything between us but real and reckless, no matter if it hurts one, or both of us, in the end."

It was impossibly hard to review Found Underneath without spoilers, so I will close with this note and hope you will find yourself convinced that it is a must read. The Finding Me duet is on my re-read forever list. It's romantic, it's got just enough twists and turns, and oh my lanta are the smut scenes HOT AS HECK. Now, when do we get Noah? That man deserves a standalone of his own, at the very least!

So good.

Angsty. Heartbreaking. Ugly tears. Hopeful. Just a few ways to describe this story. It’s just so so good. So in love with these characters.

K.L. Kreig has made her way onto my one-click list! Found Underneath, the conclusion to her Finding Me series, was absolutely stunning. It was well-written, beautiful, and full of feels. From the start, I was just as enthralled with the continuation of the story as I was with the first book. There is a ton of depth here. This isn’t just a billionaire romance; it’s about opening yourself up to risks, opening your heart, and forgiveness.

It takes off where book one leaves off. Just as Shaw and Willow think things are copacetic between the two of them and that they were going to take this fake relationship into the real zone, the past rears its ugly head. Caught between his love of his family and his new love for Willow, Shaw gets stuck between a rock and a hard place. And Willow needs to discover just how much she’s willing to forgive. Their new and fragile love definitely gets put to the test. They continue to be well-written, well-developed and complex characters. And their connection is practically visible while their chemistry remains smoking hot.

There have been times where a conclusion has lost its steam from book one, but this is definitely not the case here. If anything, Kreig upped the ante with Found Underneath—making it more evocative, more emotional, just plain more. I’d recommend reading with a box of tissues nearby. I certainly needed them. If you haven’t jumped on the Kreig bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for! Start with this duet, I promise you it’ll rock your world.
