Heed the content warnings.  Nothing is overtly graphic or descriptive but it is very clear what is going on.
It was an emotionally challenging book but the subject matter was handled with care and I feel Elizabeth Scott depicted the cycle of abuse, victims becoming abusers, and imperfect victims well.

I thought the writing was beautiful. The use of the phrase of being a “living dead girl” was haunting and I will be thinking about this for a long time.

Living Dead Girl took me a little over an hour and a half to read. This book is BEYOND fast paced, you are so in the thick of it. Beware speed readers: every small sentence counts, and those words you know to look for won't be there. Cherish every sentence with this book not to miss a single moment.

Every moment was throughly disgusting, and I could not put this book down. I truly recommend if you're already deep into the thriller horror concept, and if you're comfortable reading about very bleak scenes.

This is a heartbreaking story that I’m surprised is considered young adult. This book did a very good job at showing themes and years of anguish in few pages.

Not bad! This was a very interesting perspective on this sort of topic. Super sad, very tense and disturbing. Wasn't the best though, also wasn't the worst! A quick read.

I really like this book, it was an interesting and quick read. It was definitely intriguing from start to finish, although a bit challenging to read through some of the content but I knew what I was getting into. I deducted a star just because the writing was alright for me, not great.
I’m still not sure how I feel about the open-ended ending, usually I’m not a huge fan of them just because I like a more definite, concrete understanding of what happened. But I think this ending was ok in that sense, because I think either way she ended up free. Whether it means free in the literal sense and she’s alive and her captor is dead, or free in the sense she’s free from this earth and is dead. I’m leaning more towards she’s dead because of the way she was talking about imagining her death so much throughout the book as her form of freedom.
Overall, I really liked it but definitely be cautious if sexual assault or abuse is triggering.
