Picked this up because I saw it recommended somewhere as very similar to [b:The Hating Game|25883848|The Hating Game|Sally Thorne|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1467138679s/25883848.jpg|45762345], which I absolutely loved. While the first half of this was quite promising, and I more or less enjoyed the premise of the romance, I think the drama and the character development in this fell flat. One of my issues with a lot of romances is that the adults in them tend to act like over-grown teenagers, and I saw that here with Daisy's character; despite being 28 years old and a top-notch recently graduated resident, Daisy was incredibly annoying and childish (hating your next door neighbor for 28 years?? 10 years during which you barely ever interacted with him? being ridiculously competitive at 28 while trying to run a medical practice? hmph).

Just what I needed, a fast paced romantic comedy. Daisy's quick comebacks and references were a hoot and Lucas is nothing but swooooonworthy. If you need a quick, sexy, hilarious read definitely check out Anything You Can Do.

J'ai adoré de la première à la dernière page, je crois bien qu'il est mon premier coup de coeur de l'année. Pourtant d'autres écrits de l'autrice ne m'avaient pas du tout plu (les Summer games par exemple) alors je suis ravie d'avoir passé cet a priori car ce livre fait un bien fou par ces temps moroses !
C'est simple j'ai ri dès le début et il y a eu cette petite étincelle qui me disait, tu vas adorer, tu ne va pas le lâcher. Et c'est exactement ce qui s'est passé. La recette est vue et hyperconnue, on a un enemies-to-lovers avec une héroïne qui ne voit rien et des crasses que les deux ennemis d'enfance se font.
Daisy est la plus délirante, un brin folle je dirais avec cette envie de gagner à tout prix, et il est loin d'être en reste. On passe surtout une bonne partie du texte avec elle. Il apparaitra plus tard et avec ces fameux emails, j'ai bien aimé cette petite touche.
Alors comme on dit, en amour comme à la guerre... tous les coups sont permis. C'est lui qui commence les hostilités et on sait que ce sera beaucoup de ce genre de crasse durant notre lecture. Mais je vous rassure, pas que ça, sinon ce serait vite lassant.
L'autrice a su doser humour, moments en famille et rapprochement... oui oui jusqu'à faire monter la pression. Il y a du sexy, je le rapprocherais d'un Vi Keeland. La tension est telle que même malgré 10 ans passés, ils ne sont toujours pas capables de faire la paix...

Daisy Bell and Lucas Thatcher were ennemies from the moment they were born. After a decade appart for college, they both come back to their hometown of Hamilton to take over the same family practice. But Lucas has changed a lot since Daisy last saw him and it takes everything in her to resist his charms.
This was a first person narration from Daisy's POV and, although I prefer when you have both main characters' POV, the couple emails written by Lucas gave enough insight into his head. I loved the family dynamics and the banter between Lucas and Daisy. I liked the meddling from Madeleine and Mrs Bell and the epilogue was perfect. The only negative was Daisy's scene at the high school towards the end and her stubbornness to see anything except for the fight.

Das Lesen dieses Buches hat mir wirklich unfassbar viel Spaß bereitet. Hätte ich nicht so viel zu tun gehabt, dann hätte ich es in einem durchgelesen. Dies ist tatsächlich möglich, da der Schreibstil wirklich sehr locker und leicht ist. Außerdem hat dieser einen sehr humorvollen Unterton, der wirklich perfekt zu der Protagonistin gepasst hat.
Kommen wir also auch direkt auf diese zu sprechen. Daisy hätte verrückter nicht sein können. Anfangs hatte ich etwas Angst, dass sie mir nach einer Weile auf die Nerven geht, doch ich habe sie sowohl zu Beginn, als auch am Ende gemocht. (Am Ende vielleicht sogar etwas mehr). Ihre peinlichen Momente waren sehr unterhaltsam und ich fand ihren Charakter erfrischend und authentisch. Außerdem sieht sie ihre Fehler ein und gibt auch mal nach.
Lucas hat mir von Sekunde eins gefallen. Auch wenn er relativ gemein gegenüber Daisy war, hat man meiner Meinung nach einfach gemerkt, dass er sich ihr gegenüber auch sehr liebevoll verhält. Ein großer Pluspunkt für mich war, dass mal nicht der Mann den Fehler begeht, der letztendlich zum Streit führt, sondern hier Daisy diejenige ist, die ihr Verhalten wieder gut machen muss,
Der Handlung konnte ich sehr gut folgen und man konnte die Gedanken der Autorin jeder Zeit nachvollziehen. An manchen Stellen ist es etwas vorhersehbar,was ich in diesem Genre jedoch überhaupt nicht schlimm finde, wenn es sich in Grenzen hält. Geschrieben ist das Buch aus der Sicht von Daisy, allerdings bekommt der Leser auch die Möglichkeit, ein paar E-Mails von Lucas zu lesen und bekommt somit ienen Einblick in seine Gefühlswelt.
Fazit
Ein erfrischender und vorallem lustig geschriebener New Adult Roman. Die Protagonisten sind beide sympathisch und die Beziehung zwischen ihnen wurde gut aufgebaut. Das Motto „Was sich liebt, das neckt sich“ hat mir ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen und es wurde einfach perfekt umgesetzt. Ich hoffe die Autorin wird schon bald weitere Romane dieser Art veröffentlichen. Große Empfehlung, falls es mal eine leiche Lektüre sein soll.

This is definitely the one to pick up if you'relooking for a romantic comedy about two doctors who have been rivals since birth and who must now work together and compete for a position at a local family practice.
I just love a good rivals story where you can literally taste the dislike from both mc's 😈 told mostly through the fmc pov, there are a few chapters told through emails from the mmc, that shows that not everything is as it seems...
