Tbh, I didn’t understand the stakes here. There wasn’t really that much of reason for them to avoid pursuing anything between them so adamantly?
I enjoyed this for a lot of it, but eventually it started to drag. I read on audiobook at 3x speed so I had no problem pushing on, but if I’d read with my eyeballs I may have DNF’d when it started to drag.
ETA: this is one 3rd act breakup from Liese that I can understand. But man does she love to write them 😅

4.3 v sweet. i loved the representation! he was insanely wholesome. i was expecting a light fluffy romance and this was much more plot and character growth and grief which made it so i stayed up till 5 bc i had to watch them be ok. v good

Honestly I ❤️loved❤️ this book!
I thought It was going to be something silly just another college romance but it really wasn’t.
This book made me feel for the characters, the sexual tension, the banter and just the characters struggles made them all this much real to me.
As someone who has hearing problems out of a ear I really sympathised with Ryder and he put into words so many of the things I feel. I get so connected to this book it was a whole other experience for me. Being represented like that felt uniquely inspiring. I have never read of someone with hearing disabilities in their young age like me, in college. I really felt loved

So I had to follow up a mediocre romance book with one I knew would be fantastic, and per usual Chloe Liese did not disappoint! In a really rare event for my OCD self, I’ve actually read this series backwards, and I really can’t decide how to rate them because they are all wonderful!! Everything is 5 stars, but I’ve liked some more than others, so I’m trying to notate what stood out in each one.
I think in this one I really loved the characters breaking down their walls and embracing vulnerability. It felt less trope-y and more true, which is what I’ve come to appreciate most about these stories. It’s almost like the author is giving us applicable metaphors to examine our own relationships without making it preachy, and still keeping it fun and funny throughout.
This was a definition of a slow burn, which usually annoys me to no end but it actually what I loved most about this! I’m excited to have more to read (in order this time!) and to hang out more with my favorite fictional family!
